It looks to me like tech has solved the problem, all you need is a little thing that converts speech to text....telecasts can automatically and for no cost run text at the bottom of the screen.

If deaf people want to say something they cant write text....and convert it into speech if they feel like it.

In 2025 tech has taken over the translator gig, which once employed a fair number of people.....we need to unemploy the profession sign speakers as well.....its a performance now.They thought they solved the problem in the 60's. They had the "tech".
