'Siberian unicorn' walked Earth with humans

Yeah, and all the liberal media talks about is CO2. Al Gore is the worst thing to ever happen to the environmental movement.

Nobody understands evolution. If the opportunity presents , it will evolve again.

The Sabre Tooth Tiger emerges 6 times.
They will evolve again if there are tigers and massive numbers of Mega Fauna. Otherwise they can't survive anyway and need to go extinct.

If you really cared about The environment you would support desert reclamation.

Desert reclamation, what's the story on that. I'm more of a new coral reefs guy.

Imagine the Sahara as a lush forest or jungle or consider it expanding and sucking the like from the entire continent.
Google is your friend.

The first desert reclamation program I know of is low tech and successful.. in Zimbabwe.

Reversing desertification thru controlled cattle grazing???

When someone says "Desert reclamation", ... I hear "turn the desert into farmland thru irrigation methods.

I was hoping that Rune would elaborate on his own conclusions he derived from his research. But alas, he does not want to share in that fashion.

Reversing desertification with rough pasture is not the same as creating farmland in the Sahara.. I don't know anything about creating farmland in the Sahara.

Well, the Egyptians want to pump Nile water to turn it into farmland.

I agree, planned cattle grazing is not the same as human irrigation methods. I have't heard of the term "rough pasture".

Rough pasture is just restoring indigneous grasses.

The Nile delta was very productive because floods deposited topsoil from upriver every year.. I don't know how that would work since Nile river water has increasingly been reduced by upstream usage.

On a related note, I recall reading that half the Nile Dam's hydroelectric energy is used to create fertilizer for use downstream ... because the Dam greatly impedes the yearly 'topsoil" deposits you mention.

Are you aware that, initially, they slaughtered 40k elephants in a "scientifically founded" move to stop desertification. Ends up, the science was dead wrong, and the elephant deaths were not only tragic, but served to exacerbate the problem.
