“Show some guts”

So now the Iran War is the Democrats fault, all Trump’s fuck ups aren’t Trump’s fault rather the Democrats fault because they nominated Harris, getting funnier by the post
It goes to prove that MAGA is a mental disease.

This is some weird class stupidity. Oil tanker crews do not decide whether they will go through the Strait, that would be owners, and indirectly reinsurers.
...and those owners can't force sailors to put their lives in danger. This is why sailors "jump ship".

Insurers are making it plain, they will not cover ships that enter the strait.
For good reason: insurers want to make money, not make multi-million dollar payouts for sunken ships, killed crewmen and ecological cleanups.

I'm fully confident our military and intelligence leaders know the problems, but clearly Trump has his own agenda regardless of the risks and damage he does.

Google AI: will sinking a tanker in the strait of hormuz cause problems
Sinking a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz would trigger a global economic and environmental crisis, as it is the world's most critical oil transit chokepoint. As of March 2026, the ongoing conflict in the region has already shown that even the threat of such an event can halt nearly all maritime traffic, sending oil prices above $120 per barrel.

The specific problems caused by sinking a tanker include:
Global Economic & Energy Shock
Massive Supply Disruption: The strait carries approximately 20 million barrels of oil per day (25% of global seaborne trade) and 20% of global liquefied natural gas (LNG). A sunken vessel could physically block the narrow 2-mile-wide shipping lanes for weeks.
Skyrocketing Prices: Experts at CNBC predict oil prices could reach triple digits, potentially exceeding the severity of the 1970s oil embargo.
Shipping Costs: War risk insurance premiums and freight rates would soar. Recently, the cost to hire a supertanker to Asia has doubled to record highs exceeding $400,000 per day.
Fertilizer Shortages: One-third of global seaborne fertilizer trade passes through here; a blockage would severely impact global food security and farming costs.

Severe Environmental Damage
Ecological Disaster: A massive oil spill would devastate unique Persian Gulf ecosystems, including coral reefs, mangrove forests, and seagrass meadows.
Economic Livelihoods: Local fishing and the booming tourism industries in the UAE and Qatar would be crippled for decades.
Desalination Threat: The region relies heavily on seawater desalination for fresh water. An oil slick could contaminate intake systems, threatening the water supply for millions.

Geopolitical & Military Escalation
Naval Conflict: Such an act would likely trigger immediate military retaliation from international task forces led by the U.S. and Israel, potentially expanding the current regional war.

International Pressure: Asian economies, particularly China, India, Japan, and South Korea (which receive over 80% of the oil through the strait), would face extreme pressure to intervene or secure alternative energy sources.
