Should we repeal "Don't ask, don't tell?"

Should we repeal this atrocity?

i don't believe it would...when you're military, you're federal, P&I is solely about the states and between states, not the federal government

That, is a horrible reading of the 14th. It says the privileges and immunities of a US (federal) citizen may not be deprived by the states. If you don't have those rights in relation to the federal government, the state is certainly not required to recognize them. Due process and equality before the law in regards to the federal government are already protected by other amendments.

My poll is as honest as possible. The opinion of fascists is irrelevant. They're not humans, why should they get a vote?
Reminds me of Hitler's attitude toward Jews. But fortunately for us Conservatives, we're clinging to our guns along with our religion.

:palm:

good lord you are an idiot...please find me a case where the P&I clause was applied to the federal government

no its not...i've seen you criticize polls for not including honest options, in other words, a phony poll designed to induce a certain response and here you are doing the same thing

Yurt, you really need to get a handle on your love affair with George Bush and the GOP.

The ban on gays serving has been the formal policy of the US military for most of last century. Clinton didn't invent it. While Clinton didn't go far enough, DADT was actually a relaxation, or liberalization of existing rules; aka they could serve in the military as long as the weren't public about their sexual orientation. Clinton ran on a campaign to outright lift the ban, but he faced opposition from conservative and centrist lawmakers, mostly republican, but a shit load of democrats too. And he chickened out from any further liberalization.

Can you tell me when elected conservatives, broadly speaking, have been at the forefront of relaxing, liberalizing, or advocating and proactively legislating for gay rights?

what does bush or the republicans have to do with my post? why is it hacks like you have to create strawman about some love affair you imagine someone is having?

why is it you can't just address the fact that a democratic controlled house, senate and whitehouse CREATED the don't ask, don't tell....stop making excuses for it and just be honest and admit it, enough of this whiny - well look at the GOP, waaaaaa, waaaaa.....who the fuck cares, the GOP doesn't run on a pro homosexual agenda, the DEMS DO....

What...still making demands of other posters?

Like I said...shamelessness, Yurtsie!

:good4u:

:palm:

good lord, i guess we are all going to be treated with another full day of onceler whining like a baby

i mean really, how dare i ask someone to substantiate their claim that the P&I clause applies to the federal government....can YOU substantiate that...i take it by your whining that you actually agree with stringfield....is this correct? do you believe the P&I clause applies to the federal government? maybe you can actually address the substance of a post instead of whining like the little baby hack you are....

Not saying I agree - just calling your hypocrisy whenver & wherever I see it. When it comes to demanding anything from any poster on this board, you don't have a leg to stand on, Yurtsie!

While we're at it...

Why is it YOU can't admit that Cypress is right?

When Clinton was elected, he ran on repealing the "No Gays in the Military" rule. When elected, he encountered opposition which caused him to go with the compromise; DADT.

those are the facts...Conservatives have NEVER done anything with regards to easing restrictions on Gays in the military.

Where is the ad hom?

I'm just pointing out your blatant hypocrisy. How can you keep a straight face when demanding anything of another poster? When you are asked for even the most simple thing, you lie, distract, avoid & evade, and eventually resort to posting nursery rhymes and irrelevant emoticons.

Ergo, I'll call you on it anytime....

Yurtsie!

DADT did nothing to further gay rights.

LMAO....its always someone else's fault...the poor dems just can't do anything because of the republicans...according to you, they can't keep promises, have no fucking spine becuase the republicans are big meanies

thanks for the laugh

and i point out again, WHO CARES about the republicans, they do not run on a pro homosexual platform, why don't you be honest and admit the dems are pussies and why can't you accept the fact that the dems are RESPONSIBLE for the don't ask, don't tell....why do you always have to blame someone else?

The only thing DADT changed was the actual enlistment process. They have you sign a waiver saying that although they cannot ask about your sexuality, you still cannot be gay, or even support gay rights. Well, unless you want to be charged that is.
