Months before Friday's shooting at LAX, officials removed armed police officers from their permanent assignments protecting TSA checkpoints.

It appears the gunman targeted unarmed Transportation Security Administration agents.

Officials did not immediately identify the 40-year-old screener who was killed. In all, seven people were injured. Six were taken to area hospitals.

It remained unclear if the gunman and the TSA officer who was killed were included in that total.

we can't trust the TSA. They're too busy checking shampoo bottles.

We need a new security force trained only in government security.

If you'd ever actually boarded a plane instead of selling flowers at the airport, you would have noticed that they aren't. Yet.

Being a servicemember, I always feel that I have a lot more to lose from fucking with these people than my typical fellow passengers. Also, I don't really fly much.
