There is no requirement to go thru hormone treatments and surgery to be considered transgender. Are you seriously saying that small children who are transgender must get hormone treatments and surgery in order to be transgender? If so you have no understanding of the situation.

just listened to a discussion of that on the news......liberal saying that Obama's new order does damage to the transgendered community, as the successful lawsuit that he based his directive on involved a person who had gone through the treatments and surgery and now he applying it to everyone, regardless of what changes they have made......

Aren't these the rigid gender roles feminists have been fighting against for the last 50 years? Why can't women wear combat boots? Why can't they have beards? Some women have facial hair. Sometimes a lot. Why are you invalidating the feelings of the transgendered women that don't want to exhibit purely feminine qualities?

That said, I laugh at the bullshit talking points christe et al espouse. You have no idea what you believe beyond the talking points you've been given to blindly repeat. All of a sudden bruce jenner gets a boob job and you are life long transgendered rights activists... lol. If any of you were in a womens locking room and male-bodied person walks in and gets naked (remember.. don't be transphobic!..., women can have dongs now! ... and yes that is what trans people actually believe...), you'll be heading for doors and likely calling the police.

Jenner is talking about de-transitioning and the response I've seen to that from trans activists so far is good, the face of trans activism should not be a Republican. I personally have paid zero attention to the whole Jenner transition, though I agree about the Republican thing. What little I know about trans activists comes from long before the Republican bathroom fetish. Some minor squirmishes regarding language in reproductive rights. I think the bathroom laws are what called most people's attention to this, and basic human decency and common sense kind of kicks in then. It doesn't make someone an "activist".

Frankly if you go down any rabbit hole of activism what you find is a f'ing nightmare. I think it's why sane people drop or burn out. That may be projection though.
