I truly am sorry that happened to you.I haven't seen any either, and that's why I'm asking them, please point the way if the information is out there.
Yeah it was unnerving and I'll leave it at that because of where we are and the mental facilities of the audience. But it really ended up being no big deal, but OTOH I tell the story a lot, have told it a lot since then, so yeah it definitely bothered me that it happened like that. Probably more than I wanted to let on.
It's not the transgenders that are the worry, and it's not that men haven't gone into women's bathrooms before.
It will be the perceived commonality of men in women's bathrooms that increases risks.
Put it this way..people often see things that are suspicious and say nothing - if someone had seen you being followed
what is the chance they would have intervened? Based on typical situations people just don't get involved.
Now with "men in a women's bathroom being a civil right" ( as it will be thought of shorthand) what's the chance that ANYONE
would say anything and risk being wrong..possibly sued for civil rights....no good can come from any of this.
It's a bad idea -there is public safety ,and there is also privacy rights at stake..for very little (if any ) return
