Should the World surge Russia.

If we slowly dole out arms to Ukraine it will lead to a slow drawn out war that will cost lives on both sides. The world should supply Ukraine with as many advanced weapons as fast as we can so it will outstrip Russia's ability to replace weapons. Reagan defeated the Soviet Union by outstripping the Soviets economy's ability to compete with the US economy. Right now Russia is having a problem supplying its army. We need to pick up the pace that we supply Ukraine so they can push Russia back to its borders.

Considering that a lot of posters here and even world leaders thought Russia would easily overrun Ukraine in a matter of days, the strategy that has been followed to date has not only allowed Ukraine to successfully defend itself, but also claw back substantial amounts of territory taken in the first weeks of the war.

That is real, measurable success.

Not being a military expert, I am not going to get on a soap box and say what mix of military aid should be committed to the fray, but I am sure there are a plethora of logistical and training issues that us non-experts aren't even dimly aware of.

I agree that robust military support should continue, and maybe even increase for Ukraine, and hopefully that will continue no matter who becomes the next president. Because as long as Putin is in power I don't see him accepting defeat and giving up.

The supporters of the war are fools. Russia cannot lose. If the Russians were in any danger of losing they would use nukes.
So would any nuclear-armed country.
NATO is a stupid concept.

You have demonstrated time after time that you dont know what the fuck you are talking about.

NATO is a stupid concept.

Why is that?
Without NATO there’s no doubt Russia would try to re-establish the Soviet Union and basically re-colonize Eastern Europe. None of those sovereign countries want that. In fact they’re the ones that have the most hatred for Russian aggression and imperialism.

President Biden offered Zelenski a ride out of Ukraine. It sounds like he thought Ukraine would fall in a matter of days. One of the BIG things that helped prevent Ukraine from falling was the Javelins that Trump sent to Ukraine. They helped stall Putin's tank attack on Kiev. (Remember that Obama/BIDEN sent MREs and blanket to repel Russia in Crimea when Biden was in charge of Ukraine. I'm sure they were very helpful)

I watch a Polish news guy he CLEAR hates Russia. He use to live under Russian control.

The Soviet Union lost the cold war and didn't use its nukes. They lost in Afghanistan and didn't use nukes. They know they would die if they used nukes. You are an idiot.

.
Absurd. We lost Vietnam and didn’t use nukes.
We lost Iraq and didn’t use nukes.
We lost Afghanistan and didn’t use nukes.
Soviet Union lost Afghanistan and didn’t use them.
Even if they did use them it’s already been shown that tactical nukes on the battlefield would be as useful in destroying Russian forces as well as Ukrainian.
Strategic use against Ukraine would elicit an all out response from NATO.

Trump had to be cajoled and talked into providing lethal military aid to Ukraine, according to his very own national security advisor. Trump wasn't keen to do it, and his staff had to tell him it would be good business for American defense contractors.

Biden was providing lethal military aid to Ukraine months before Putin invaded

NATO is a self-fulfilling prophecy. As is now evidenced- NATO promotes war by expansion.

Russia, you may or may not recall, was developing a solid commercial relationship with Europe - before the US, via NATO, moved to dismantle it.

The idiot is you. NATO wasn't advancing through Afghanistan.

The Russians will probably believe that they can use tactical nukes in Ukraine without starting WW3. Regardless, they will use them anyway rather than allow NATO in. They've intimated it often enough, you deaf addlepate.

Quite obviously we're talking about an existential threat. Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan were not existential threats to the US. The US used them on Japan when it wasn't necessary. The Russians take that into account when planning never to allow NATO into Ukraine.

Even if they did use them it’s already been shown that tactical nukes on the battlefield would be as useful in destroying Russian forces as well as Ukrainian.

You probably believe that they blew up their own pipelines.

Strategic use against Ukraine would elicit an all out response from NATO.

Uder existential threat they are likely to take that risk. After all, NATO would be committing suicide .

Are you the same one who predicted a Russian victory in Ukraine in just a few days as well as a huge win for republicans in the last election? Yeah, you are the one. Good job!

Not me. You're the clown that also thinks I supported Bush and the Iraq war

Haw, haw, haw, haw.................haw, haw.............................haw.

What R U all smokin? It looks to me that the only way to defeat Russia is to introduce large numbers of Western troops. Is China going to just take that and let the Empire fail in this mission? I rather doubt it, that would result in a full on war between the West and China/Russia/Iran and maybe Pakistan....a war that we would certainly lose. The only real question is whether it would last more than a week....I say no, my wife says maybe.

That chances that NATO survives this war are very slim.

The Russia/China alliance will however hold.

Fortunately Trump had the wisdom to pick good advisors not the team of morons like picked. Remind me who was in charge of Ukraine during the Obama administration? I think I have heard his name before....Biden?

There is almost no possible outcome to this war that does not leave the Ukrainians sure that they were betrayed by America...we will get most of the blame....it is the Americans and the Brits who got Ukraine to this calamity. Fighting the Empire to the last Ukrainian was always a really dumb idea.
