Should the Senate really be voting on a Supreme Court pick while the president who nominated him is under FBI investigation?

Seems to me we need to wait a year or so to see if this leads to an impeachment. Maybe the nomination is invalid? I think we should really take a cautious path here and wait a bit to see what comes of this criminal investigation. It really might be an invalid presidency.
 
I'm torn, but they probably should. Ultimately, Gorsuch is probably as good as Dems can hope for - a Pence nominee will be anti-Roe for sure.

Still ticked about what happened w/ Garland. I hope that comes back to bite Republicans eventually.

Gorsuch will be confirmed.
There is nothing any democrat can do about it. You guys don't have enough pussy hats to pass around.

I agree, the Democrats should rise above and confirm this guy, he is qualified, and Rump could have nominated someone a LOT worse. Gorsuch is much like Roberts.
 
i want this issue to be used to nuke the 60 vote thing. That way thomas and the rest can retire and you can guarantee younger healtheir conservatives. Just have to wait for one of the others to drop off :)

If we used Republican logic, a case could be made that Rump is in his last year as president and thus the Senate should wait to let the new president nominate the justice.

only applies if your the minority :) If democrats were the majority they could have nuked the filibuster too.

All of the problems of democrats really go back to one simple issue : They need to win elections.

I think Gorsuch is actually going to be a good judge. I actually dont oppose him, he is highly qualified, much more so than say... Thomas. He is very likely going to turn out to me more liberal than Scalia which is ultimately a net gain for liberals. I have a feeling he might be Rumps only pick.

The sitting liberals only have to hold out 2.5 more years.
