My state has 5 things it will accept in order to vote. All of them are photo IDs. One of them is an ID card issued by the DMV.

When the law went into effect, the State identified approximately 170K residents that didn't have a valid ID. The State offered a free ID AND a ride to get it. 25 accepted.

Moron... repeating the same nonsense over and over again won't make it any more valid. You stated that 'right wingers' wanted it to be EASIER to GET a gun than to get to vote.

It is not easier to get a gun than it is to vote. Even if you implement Voter ID laws it STILL would be harder to get a gun due to the background check over 75% of gun buyers go through.

Try it one last time, why did those 170,000 voters have their right to vote taken away from them when there never existed a Voter ID issue that demanded a new ID to rectify? What your State did was to invent a problem and then use that fabricated problem to disenfranchise 170,000 qualified voters

They didn't have it taken away. If they refused a ride AND the free ID, they gave up their right.

Again, why can't blacks do with voter ID what whites have no problem doing?

A United States citizen and a resident of California (for information on voters in the military or overseas, please see*Military and Overseas Voters),
18 years old or older on Election Day,
Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony (for more information, please see*Voting Rights: Persons with a Criminal History), and
Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court (for more information, please see*Voting Rights: Persons Subject to Conservatorship).



when you register to vote you have to prove who you are.

then to vote you just need a voters card that is sent to you.
