Should House republicans adopt a filibuster rule before dems take over in January?

HAHAHA. You obviously don't know what a filibuster is. What an idiot.

So, are you claiming a filibuster could be used to block rules changes? You obviously know nothing about setting rules.

How do you think Democrats and Republicans both changed the rules to allow a majority vote for confirming judges? They can try to filibuster rules changes, but that can be overturned by a simple majority.

"According to the Supreme Court's ruling in United States v. Ballin (1892), Senate rules can be changed by a simple majority vote."

People calling others idiots are usually the most misinformed.

The House used to have a filibuster like the senate still does.

The chambers set their own rules. One can still filibuster in the House but it requires someone in a leadership position as the rules limit members to one minute during debates but it is not enforced against leaders who can speak as long as they want.

Text Drivers Are Killers (just like Shootspeeders) is a fool. He is wrong as usual. Yes, a simple majority by the Dems next month can change a filibuster rule to a 50% vote plus one.

T D A K, please thinks before you write.

If you, T D A K, are suggesting an actual filibuster on the floor, the Speaker will not recognize a request for the floor from any GOP member without requiring the member to state whether he will try to filibuster or not. Based on the member's response, the Speaker may or may not recognize the request. If the member lies and begins a filibuster, the Speaker may shut off the member's microphone and have the sergeant at arms remove the member from the House. Don't you know anything!

This is almost the dumbest thing ever posted on JPP and we are talking about a forum where Desh, Jarod and and KKKhristiefan post so that is saying something

The new House of Representatives will make the rules of the House in the new Congress. It’s in the Constitution. No rule the current GOP would pass now would be binding.

Pleas don’t post stupid things. Leave that to JPP demalquedacrats

Another idiot who doesn't know what a filibuster is. Republicans can filibuster any attempt at a rules change. THINK

YOU really do not know what you are talking about...

....and you are too stupid to realize that you don't.

Read the answers you've been given. They are correct...and you are dead wrong.

Hey stupid. The repubs will filibuster the rules change and thus it won't come to a vote.

Do you enjoy being the board laughingstock?

T D A K is an ass. He knows he is lying. Here again for those who don't know, "If you, T D A K, are suggesting an actual filibuster on the floor, the Speaker will not recognize a request for the floor from any GOP member without requiring the member to state whether he will try to filibuster or not. No, they can't. Hence the ability of the Republicans in the Senate to change the rules without a filibuster blocking them when they removed the ability of the Ds to block votes on the SCOTUS nominees.

HAHAHA. We're talking about the House not the senate, you simpleton. If they choose to, the House repubs could bring back the filibuster before dems take over in january. If the dems try to remove the filibuster rule, the repubs can filibuster that. THINK

THEY CANNOT DO THAT, YOU ASSHOLE.

Stop trying to pretend you know this issue...because doing so shows that you do not...BIG TIME.
