I love it when the liberals say WHAT his term in office will be like; because all the other things that they said he would fail at, he's proven them wrong every time.![]()
I hope I am wrong, for America's sake.

It is absolutely vague!"Make America great again isn't so vague because it translates into put America first." #357
piffle"None of Trump's critics were right about him before the election so their opinion about how he will perform as president should be taken with a hefty grain of salt." #357
I hope I am wrong, for America's sake.

It is absolutely vague!
What does it mean?
- Bulldoze our mountains to our shores, to increase the acreage of our sovereign territory? "Great" means bigger. Is that what he means?
- Increase our military? North Korea spends a larger % of its own GDP on military than any other nation I can think of. If Trump matched North Korea's GDP% military spending, would that "make America great again"? We're already the planet's global ultra-power. Do we really have to INCREASE our military spending for additional "great"ness?
- Ballet is considered to be a great and refined art form. Will President Trump put a ballet theater in every U.S. municipality w/ over one million in population?
"Great" in that use is entirely subjective. And what Trump thinks is "great" may be loathed by over half our population.

My assessment of Trump's character has been precisely right from day one of his announced candidacy. I was right then. And I'm still right now.

I made no prediction. But I did note his public opinion poll ranking periodically."Did you predict he'd win the primaries lol?" DO #366
duh!"Make America great again means putting US interests first in trade and foreign policy. It means putting US interests ahead of global interests. Think: Brexit.
Things like that."
I made no prediction. But I did note his public opinion poll ranking periodically.
I understand statistical analysis. And I understand the accuracy of some of the more respected public opinion polling organizations.
They simply got it wrong on this one, from start to finish.
BUT !!
What you're addressing is whether Trump has the support of a minority of citizens that vote.
He did.
That may not necessarily translate into an effective, benevolent, constructive presidential administration.
It might!
But it may not necessarily.
That's not crying (ref: #364). It's stating reality.
duh!
And for $Billionaires, that means cutting $taxes to near $zero.
And to single mothers on public assistance it means raising the minimum wage, and monthly $benefit.
You needn't take my word for it.
But know it or not, believe it or not, like it or not, admit it or not; ANY change President Trump may impose will almost certainly create winners and losers.
If Trump revitalizes the coal industry (phasing down in part due to hydro-fracking) that might make coal miners happy. But it will meet the objection of the global warming crowd, patients with respiratory problems, alternative / renewable energy workers, etc.
It's a simple, undeniable fact. "Make America Great Again" is a slogan for buffoons. It's meaningless. "The devil is in the details".
Trump is gunna "make America great again"? HOW !!! ???
Perhaps."In four years voters will decide if Trump made America great again." DO #369
BUT !!U.S. NATIONAL DEBT CLOCK
The Outstanding Public Debt as of 29 Nov 2016 at 07:54:55 PM GMT is:
$ 1 9 , 9 3 8 , 0 7 9 , 9 9 3 , 6 2 0 . 6 9
The estimated population of the United States is 324,243,833
so each citizen's share of this debt is $61,491.01.
http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/
I suspect, whether Trump intends it or not; if he gets the economic growth rate promised; our deficit and debt will $skyrocket."What's pernicious about deficits for conservatives is this. It makes big government cheap. What we're doing, we're turning to the country, the "conservative" administration turns to the country and says: We're going to give you a dollar's worth of government, we're going to charge you seventy five cents for it. And we're going to let your kids pay the other quarter." George Will Nov 30, 2003
Perhaps.
BUT !!
Let's not forget the President Richard M. Nixon ploy.
In '68 Nixon campaigned on having a secret plan to end the Vietnam War.
Nixon was widely despised.
BUT !!
The electorate was so desperate to end the War, they voted Nixon into office anyway.
When Nixon's '72 re-election campaign was underway, Nixon was asked:
- Whatever happened to your "secret plan" to end the Vietnam War? The War is still going on. What are you waiting for? -
Nixon said he was following his plan, but that the electorate had to re-elect him, or he wouldn't finish; he wouldn't end the War.
And so, as astounding as it is to believe, they RE-elected him. Of course, he never completed his 2nd term. Resigned in disgrace.
But anyone that thinks Trump will legitimately succeed would not be likely to pass a urine test.
Tax cuts are the universal Republican refrain.
BUT !!
They refuse to cut spending further first.
I suspect, whether Trump intends it or not; if he gets the economic growth rate promised; our deficit and debt will $skyrocket.
A yes."Well since Obama managed to skyrocket debt will stifling economic growth, we might as well get some economic growth while Trump continues the debt trend." DO #371
Cindy Sheehan, the so-called Peace Mom seeking a second meeting with President Bush in connection with the Iraq War death of her son, says terrorists killing Americans are “freedom fighters.”
and her supporters.....
A yes.
The familiar: - the other guy's a bum too! - defense.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
And if Trump cuts taxes as much as he'd have to to meet his GDP growth targets, he might pull a Reagan on us, & more than double the U.S. federal debt.
When will we ever hire a president that's willing to stop spending the $money of citizens yet unborn?
They're against abortion.
But they have no problem saddling them with $tens of $thousands of $dollars in $debt each!
"You're forgetting Trump has yet to add a single penny to the national debt." Kreskin #374
I haven't studied it."assuming Trump does increase the deficit"
“... Reince Priebus, the Republican National Chairman today said that 300K jobs ... aught to be expected every month ... and just a historical perspective:" it would be nice to at least have something to show for it.
Instead of the lose/lose proposition that was the Obama economy. "
you are. First off Trump cant think exclusively short term. If he doesnt get a third term by his successor then he would not qualify as one of the greats nor would he qualify if america immediatly collapsed after him.
Now there will be some instances where you will want the US to step in and fight like if russia does something. Just remember the country, even if your not, is in a war weary state right now.
One thing I like about James Mattis is that he is logically against torture. Another Trump campaign promise down the toilet!
lol. mattis is only against torture in public. If you look at his philosophy if it would win the war he would happily torture anyone.
