You're right it's not a myth, it's an anecdote, and all anecdotes are filtered through the prism of inherent biases...so you've pinned hope to something that is hopeless.
The patients who do see it "work"? Anecdotal.
That's the real rub of all this, you're wasting all this time chasing a false promise that is based on an anecdote. AN ANECDOTE. You've wasted time, resources, and effort chasing an anecdote because that anecdote came from a source you trust that you shouldn't. You never learn.
