Sexuality is not black or white. One is generally not gay or straight. Often people resist this idea because physical attraction to the same sex is such a taboo, and it my contention that many people automatically repress any such feelings.
Sexual identification is more like most everything, on a scale. People generally fit on a spectrum of sexual attraction. There are some who are truly on one side of the scale... purely and totally heterosexual, while there are few on the other side truly and totally homosexual. Most fall somewhere in between. Most people will not admit to anything but being on an extreme, even to themselves.
