Lock him up!

"Then-Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) spoke twice last year with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Justice Department officials said, encounters he did not disclose when asked about possible contacts between members of President Trump’s campaign and representatives of Moscow during Sessions’s confirmation hearing to become attorney general. One of the meetings was a private conversation between Sessions and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak that took place in September in the senator’s office, at the height of what U.S. intelligence officials say was a Russian cyber campaign to upend the U.S. presidential race.

The previously undisclosed discussions could fuel new congressional calls for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Russia’s alleged role in the 2016 presidential election. As attorney general, Sessions oversees the Justice Department and the FBI, which have been leading investigations into Russian meddling and any links to Trump’s associates. He has so far resisted calls to recuse himself.

At his Jan. 10 Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing, Sessions was asked by Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) what he would do if he learned of any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of the 2016 campaign.

“I’m not aware of any of those activities,” he responded. He added: “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians.”

If this is provable, I agree, "lock him up".

Direct perjury. Much worse than what Bill Clinton was impeached for.

"I did not have communications with the Russians.” - Jeff Sessions to Congress.

Sessions should resign as attorney general, had this issue been known before his confirmation hearing, he would not been confirmed!

The Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the United States LIED TO CONGRESS.

ITs a big deal.

"I did not have communications with the Russians.”

Sessions is a life long racist swine and now he has perjured himself to congress in his confirmation hearing.

That little prick needs to go to prison...
LOCK HIM UP!

This gang are bigger liars with brassier necks than Nixon's gang, but America has sunk further below fact. Sad!

Hillary sold them, and apparently Iran Nuclear material....

But since that is actually important we won't discuss that shall we?

Ahh, you might want to listen very closely to franken's question before you go off half cocked again.

SEN. AL FRANKEN: "If there was any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this (2016) campaign, what would you do?," the Minnesota Democrat asked.

SESSIONS:
"I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians."

Franken's question is a "no" answer- Seesion's answer muddies that no..

It's silly to say Sessions met as part of the campaign -he met the ambassador as part of his duties as Senator.
But Sessions answer adds to that-I don't think he meant anything by it -trying to be too candid
but the 'Gotcha squad" who have nothing better to do of course hype the latter

Saying he met as part of his Senate duties is assuming something not in evidence.

Again, why did he lie instead of explaining why he met with Kislyak? Flynn got canned for doing the very same thing.

US Senators duties include meeting ambassadors - are you seriously saying they met to collude?

he answered in the same context. I agree he muddies it up with extension to "no"
