Senate gun ban vote scheduled

Democrats in the Senate plan another attempt to outlaw the sale of assault weapons with easily detachable ammunition magazines known as bullet buttons as part of a wide-ranging slate of gun control bills scheduled for votes on Thursday.

Nearly a dozen measures would significantly reshape gun laws following last year’s terrorist attack in San Bernardino.

Under the assault-weapon ban, most rifles must require a tool to detach the magazine. Gun makers developed so called bullet buttons that allow a shooter to quickly dislodge the ammunition cartridge using the tip of a bullet or other small tool.

Outlawing bullet buttons is a priority for gun control advocates, who hope that making it harder to reload would limit the carnage a mass shooter can inflict.

The debate has fallen along familiar lines, with Democrats advocating a crackdown on guns in the name of safety and Republicans complaining that gun laws only hinder people intent on following the law.

Just to make sure a basic fact is readily known, this stupidity is only occurring in California.

The topic title and general "Democrats in the Senate" could make someone think it is a national measure being taken up by Congress.

Think so?

Think so?

Know so . . .

Feel free to demonstrate that a "bullet button" ban is being proposed outside California since that is the only place where "bullet buttons" are needed (to release a semi-auto rifle's magazine with a "tool") . . .

Did I say a "bullet button" ban is being proposed outside California?

"You" didn't say anything.

The identifier of "California" did not appear in the title or body of your post, only in the URL in small print. A completely uninformed reader would only learn how specific and California unique this "bullet button" issue is, by copying the URL in your post, pasting it into their browser and reading the article.

My intent in post #2 was just to make sure a basic fact is readily known, that this stupidity is only occurring in California because your selective cut and paste and wording of the thread title could lead someone to believe this was a national / federal Senate proposal.

To me, your "Think so?" was intended to challenge my factual statement that the "bullet button" ban was very specific and unique to California.

I admit that I could have misinterpreted your vagueness so I'll ask directly, did you have any other challenge in mind or was "Think so?" just trolling throw-away 'well, I gotta post something to make me look useful' garbage?

Surely you don't think a gun rights advocate would fall into that category, do you?

They are not immune to misleading thread titles and posts and many are not following gun control news from California.

California is considered a lost cause and many "gun rights advocates" ignore gun control news from there.

A "gun rights advocate" or even someone marginally interested in the subject will click a thread titled "Senate gun ban vote scheduled" and they would, after reading your post, be misinformed as to the reach of the proposed legislation (without aforementioned independent action / research).

Reading the hyperbole in what you cut and pasted, one might even think that a "bullet button" is some accessory that makes a semi-auto rifle more deadly and dangerous than a non-Cali gun with a typical mag release button . . .

That's their problem, not mine.

Fortunately for these individuals - whoever they may be - they have you to gunsplain.

Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom, I hear.

Thanks for admitting your arguments promoting gun control policy are just misinformation and misrepresentation and if people are fooled by you it is their fault.

When did I promote gun control policy, or provide misinformation and misrepresentation?

I'll understand if you can't explain.

There are questions pending that you have not answered.

What did you mean when you said "Think so?", what statement of mine was that intended to challenge / rebut?

I'll understand if you can't explain
