Senate dress code

But you think you can't be wrong. That's I love most about you narcissistic twats

I can be wrong, my opinion about her writing is an opinion. Different people will think differently. There really is no wrong or right on that issue.
I admitted having been wrong in my usage of the word elitism just above, a few minuets ago.

You on the other hand can never admit having ever been wrong.

I would not want her to wear a bikini in the office, but only for the same reason I wear a suit to Court. Due to the prejudice of other people.

Also, I might not get much work done because she is about 20 years younger than me and attractive.

Ladies 20 years old younger than I are unfortunately still old ladies,

although they're often admittedly still quite attractive.

I'll admit to NEVER having been comfortable in denim jeans.
My mother observed this and bought me twills [like khakis but not always that color, often black] as my play clothes.
Now, in my dotage, I wear sweats around the house. Or just a bathrobe of which I have many.

Right off the bat, not being comfortable in jeans earns me accusations of being un-American!!!
Jeans are for kids... sweats and sport wear R 4 US...;)We have earned
The Luxury of Comfort...;)

Perspective changes, 30 is very young to me now days. Their was a time when I thought it was ancient.

but I thought the clothes didn't make a difference... if people are prejudiced then you really don't want those kind of people for clients do you? Just agree that certain attire is appropriate for certain occasions... like a uniform... would you be okay with I know uniform policy if someone thought it was uncomfortable?

You are a former teacher, dress code for schools is an interesting issue for me. I am generally for them as long as they are lenient and neutral and the rules do not dictate style but are targed toward making education easier.

One of my kids goes to a public school where the code allows t-shirts, as long as they are purchased from the school at a mark up to benefit the school. I hate that.

Sadly, 50 is very young to me these days.
My son will be fifty in a few months and his sister isn't too far behind.

Oh, well,
it's either getting old or dying young.

I'm already too old to die young!

I do not mind certain types of prejudiced clients, most people are prejudiced in some way. If they have a good case and can behave, I take the case.

Uniforms are good for military and branding of some businesses, but uniforms just to control others does not work for me.

I am sure it comes with some benefits, I hope you are enjoying them.

I am a retired teacher and I think I mentioned before that I love the concept of school uniforms... when we had one it worked wonderfully... and yes t-shirts and other tops were School issued... that way everyone is wearing the same thing...different version in school colors... great fundraiser by the way... black pants or khakis... makes the day so much easier for the kids parents and teachers... until a group of the more liberal faculty decided that we were taking away student choice to express their individuality...lol... a pitch to fit until they got their way... but honestly even after it was officially ended most of the kids chose to wear the school gear for sometime... these days a dress code or regulations are absolutely mandatory...
So all your kids aren't in public schools? that area has wonderful Public Schools...

How do you think uniforms are meant to control others? Would you prefer that all law enforcement and First Responders are in plain clothes? What about the military? Does it bother you that the academy still have such strict rules about dress and etiquette?

All of my kids are in and always have been in public school.

I am not totally against uniforms, there are some good arguments for them. I do not like using them as fundraisers in public schools, some kids are poor.

It is difficult to educate kids and they need reduced distraction, and uniforms can help. My daughter goes to high school and the dress code is so unevenly enforced it becomes silly.

They all have dress codes or dress regulations I hope...

We have a k-8 neighborhood school, it did not have dress codes and it worked well, but that was a special school.

Their current schools have dress codes, but the High School is very relaxed.

if a student can't afford a uniform I'm sure that allowances are made... the vast majority of my high school was low income.... it's still very possible to make the sales of school apparel a fundraiser... you really don't think that they're selling those t-shirts that your kids school too make money that isn't used for the school do you? If that's the case the wrong person and it's in charge of your uniforms and the company that produces them...;) you said they're all Public so that should not be an issue...

They are doing such a disservice in the high school by allowing just about anything these days...why not speak up?

Not sure what you mean by a special school but uniforms are always a good idea... there's no purpose in a dress code if it's relaxed.. that means that it pretty much doesn't exist... same thing goes for phones/headphones.. part of the schools job is to prepare these kids for real life...

When I was in public high school in the early 1960s,
I had to wear a suit,
and I was perfectly cool with it because I liked suits.

By the time my son was in high school,
they were in the "anything goes" period.
That's been since mitigated as well.

Sometimes he wore cargo shorts in February, but
my favorite garment of his was one particular t-shirt.

From a distance, it looked a little like a paisley print, odd for a t-shirt.
Up close, you could see that the print was not paisley
but multiple pairs of tiny rabbits having sex.

He tells the story about some girls sitting behind him giggling
and the teacher clueless as to why.

He had another less subtle t-shirt.
On the front were two fucking skeletons
over the caption, "Love never dies."

Meanwhile, his little sister attended middle school dressed like Madonna.

Why am I only now realizing what juvenile delinquents my kids were?

Not their fault, though.
The Gestapo and I weren't exactly Draconian disciplinarians as you can well imagine.

As long as they didn't act like assholes toward other people
and thought before they did anything stupid to hurt themselves or others,
I guess we were good.

The offspring turned out fine as far as I can see.

He pretends to be a doctor.
