Senate dress code

I don't know, tutu and ballet shoes?

Already been done...

I would never vote for someone who has the gall to be in congress and not show up in suitabe dress.....Unless they were running against a republican. We have assholes in there now who think it would be a good idea to shut down our govt over spending when nothing costs us more than a shutdown. I'd vote for someone showing up in their underware over any asshole who would consider that.

Any rule trying to force respect is enacted by a fool who doesn’t understand respect.

You obviously never served in the military, and it proves my point that you are a fake lawyer. Try walking your ass into a courtroom in shorts and a hoodie.

does that guy wearing a robe in the court room agree with you?.......shucks here, the judges require everyone, including women, to remove hats, including stocking caps and dew rags.......

So the existence of a dress code for court is evidence that its a good idea?

it certainly proves that you don't have good ideas......all your bullshit about forcing respect is a bit lame from someone who has certainly advised his clients on what is appropriate dress for their day in court......

to be fair, they aren't insisting on shutting down the government......they've merely suggested reducing its growth slightly......it's the demmycrats who would rather shut it down than limit its growth......

You must be a classless fool. It's called respect.
Just dropping by for a sec to post this FetterGem to you, LF. Stay tuned to this station for more.

Faux News: Radio silence on Boebert's gropefest but raging for days that Fetterman lacks decorum.

Fetterman: "I figure if I take up vaping and grabbing the hog during a live musical, they'll make me a folk hero."

I don't work in the senate.

More to the point, I've never wanted to be an entrepreneur or employer.
The conduct of business gives me a rash.

Like any other sane person,
I'd rather squeak by on what I inherited.

I will admit this.

If I did run a business, ladies and gentlemen,
you'd better own a number of suits
or look for somewhere else to work.

I know how to be super conservative when it comes to some things.

Advising someone about what to wear due to a judge or jury's bias is not the same thing as imposing a dress code. People should be free do dress as they chose. I wear a suit to court because people are biased against someone who does not, and I do not want people biased against me or my client... I try to judge people by things other than their clothing choice and I believe people should be free to dress as they chose.

Does that make it right?

A little story for you... I once got called to court unexpectedly, I did not have a tie. First thing I did was explain to the judge the situation, he made me leave the courtroom. I borrowed a friends tie and went back in.

That afternoon, I happened to be having lunch with the Chief Judge and I mentioned it to him. He was not happy about the judge who kicked me out. He sent me a copy of the local rules (still in effect) from back before the Courthouse had Air Conditioning specifically saying neckties are not required.

The next day the Judge who kicked me out, called me and personally apologized.

Why is a suit more respectful? Isn’t the character of the man more important? Trump wears a suit and it sure doesn’t help his character or make him respectable.

This is one of my points, people make biased decisions based on how people are dressed, silly because you can be as bad a person in a suit as you can in shorts.

If you judge people on clothing, you are missing out on some very interesting and smart and good people.

I honestly disagree.

It speaks to a person's character
if being as comfortable as if at the beach
is more important than
maintaining an air of dignity
out of respect to those with whom you're working.

I regard this as one of the catastrophic failures of modern America.

We dress too casually.
We speak too casually.
We act too casually.

When the wrong people procreate
they don't teach their offspring
how to conduct themselves with class.

Would you attend a wedding or a funeral in lululemon or beachwear? Aren't certain occasions and settings meant for certain attire?

That asshat is no more a lawyer than I am. Bloviating bag of trolling bullshit.
