the article and OP clearly focus's on marijuana legalization as to avoid the main point, which is the administrations disregard for the laws on various issues like drugs and guns.

Correct. He's just trying to make it seem as if Congress could actually get something done in this climate.

The House just released their calendar for '14. They'll be working 97 days this year. Let's use all 97 to reach an impasse on marijuana legalization, even though states are taking the necessary measures.


The only thing the Feds need to do, is stop terrorizing the banks, and allow legal marijuana shops to conduct business. The rest can be handled by the individual states.

The admin is cracking down on the 'medical marijuana' scam. When doctors stop handing out bogus prescriptions, and when only those who need medical marijuana can buy it, the 'laws' you reference will work just fine.
