No, they ruled that the state is not the final say on issues like this, they didn’t rule on anything else meaning the states can still do it and that will be a separate issue for the courts to deal with.

I think they said they would have dismissed the case which is basically rejecting the crazy legislative supremacy theory. The Constitution which contains many provisions to limit the power of government and provide checks and balances certainly does not give complete power to the legislatures to make election laws without the involvement of the governor and courts.

The constitutional provision that gives the state legislatures power to make these laws is followed by a provision allowing Congress to alter those laws.

"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.

They ruled the state legislature does not have sole authority over election laws. The state courts can check that power if it violates state constitution/laws (or the Voting Rights Act).

Doesn’t this simply mean that if a party has a gripe about congressional district lines, it can go to court? And I would imagine that the chain would go from a state court to a federal circuit, then maybe the SCOTUS after all appeals are exhausted. The thing is, you jackasses need to understand that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Your days of gerrymandering without judicial oversight are over too.

Almost forgot! Lots of leftie talk about Rs “packing the courts”. Of the 12 federal circuits, 8 of them are majority communazi. If you comrades want to gerrymander, the odds are in your favor. Shit. You guys could probably carve out a district for putin in California, Washington or Oregon!
