Scott Adams (Dilbert): "I hope my father dies soon."

The bullshit is all yours dimwit. Her family desperately attempted to keep her on life support; it was the courts, the doctors and her husband who wanted her unplugged.

Does stupid come naturally to you, or do you have to work at it?

You are probably one of the many that only became aware of this case very late. Having lived in the neighboring county i was aware of it when it first began almost a decade earlier. The government here resisted his wishes and court rulings for years.

Idiot

You can pretend all you want if it helps you keep your view of the world intact, but the fact remains that the Right has been on a moral crusade over the right to die debate and legal marijuana for many years. Yes, the Democrats are not perfect on these issues and are really simply "Republican light" as far as I am concerned... but they are a shade better and I'll take that shade when I can get it.

If you take parties out of the equation and examine the ideologies....

The Conservative ideology results in drugs and euthanasia being illegal.

The Liberal position is softer on both of those issues.

Wow, you have a crippled hypocrisy gland. The reality is these laws remain in effect even where "the right" has no power. Look to your own house before trying to fix others. Your problem is confusing the radical religious with "the right".

Once again, Democrats are not perfect on these issues, but they are certainty better than the Republicans.

2008 Republican Platform Page 53, "We oppose euthanasia and assisted suicide..."

See if you can find anything like that in the democratic party platform!

Once again, the result is the same. Until, if ever, that is different you have no room for judgment. We have an equal amount of disdain for the policy and neither party is doing anything at all about it. You can try to diminish your responsibility because some people apply lip service to the problem, but the reality is they aren't doing anything to resolve it.

I see, so trying to address the problem with words and acknowledging that the current policy is WRONG is not better than fighting to keep the wrong law. You sleep in that bed as long as you can stay comfortable.

If given a choice between someone who disagrees with me and argues against what I believe in, and someone who agrees with me but is ineffective at changing it. I still prefer the person who agrees with me. BTW there are places where the liberals have been able to effectuate change on these issues despite the opposition from the Republicans.

In context...

"We believe medicines and treatments should be designed to
prolong and enhance life, not destroy it. Therefore, federal funds
should not be used for drugs that cause the destruction of
human life. Furthermore, the DEA ban on the use of controlled
substances for physician assisted suicide should be restored.
Pg. 40
"We oppose the non-consensual withholding of care or treatment
from people with disabilities,
as well as the elderly and infirm
just as we oppose euthanasia and assisted suicide, which
endanger especially those on the margins of society. Pg. 52

Democrats very conveniently say NOTHING on the subject.

The remarkable finding was that 71% of Democrats, and 68% of Republicans, support a doctor’s “end[ing] a patient’s life by some painless means” if the patient requests it and has a terminal illness, but only 60% of Democrats, and 41% of Republicans do when the question it phrased as “to assist the patient to commit suicide.”

And that is what the Rep. platform clearly says..."We oppose the non-consensual withholding of care or treatment"......read,

We don't oppose the consensual withholding of care or treatment......suicide is something different. I don't know if you understand the difference in what
is being said.

You're kinda like maineman with your understanding of English.

Do you want a doctor to assist a 20 year old in perfect health in suicide ? Its clear why you're a Democrat.

And the GOP opposes assisted suicide.

In the states where it is legal, the patient has to be diagnosed with a terminal illness and expected to die in six months or less, idiot.
