You know fuck all about even less. The EU will not admit them as their budget deficit is over £15 billion, or 10% of GDP. This is the highest in the EU, worse than Greece. Currently their earnings from North Sea oil are negative, it is only because they are in the UK that they aren't an economic basket case.

It's a bit more complicated than that, unfortunately: the Scottish Government has to make a decision and then persuade the majority of Scots in a referendum. Technically the UK regime could stop it, but in that case they can say goodbye to Scotland anyway. I'm afraid, at the moment though, that people are generally pessimistic, so I wouldn't put money on independence just now.
