Scientists have established a link between religious fundamentalism and brain damage

you stupid fuckstick I said religion is based on immutable principles -
which is NOT ANYWHERE NEAR the same as rigidity of thought
If I say "2+2=4 always" is that rigidity of thought?

Anatta, you really need to chillax because you're contradicting yourself.

Immutable principles is exactly what dogma is.

And dogma is rigidity of thought whose adherents are referred to as zealots.

What a fucking idiot.

"Immutable" means unchanging over time.

In other words, rigidity.

religious dharma/dogma is immutable - the practice of religion however depend on the sect.

Conflating dharma with rigidity of thought is stupid. Dharma is immutable as I have said over and over so there is no room for changes - unless some august body of that religion changes the dharma.

Religious dharma cannot be conflated with rigidity of thought however- rigidity of thought goes to being able to change perspective of incorporate new data.

So simply saying religious dharma is immutable does not impact on other worldly thinking.
One can incorporate new ideas into one's perspective on non-religious matters - but still remain faithful to dharma

You would have to show those who are religious , are also rigid thinker in secular, non-religious matters.
Nothing in the OP shows that

Practicing a religion that is based in immutable principles.

I think it's time for you to create another ID now, noise. You seem to have burned through your credibility on this one rather quickly.

Apparently our nation was created by "wing nuts".....all 50 states reference GOD in their constitutions. Our courts require an oath sworn before God in order to be under oath. Even our politicians are required to place a hand on the Holy Bible and swear an oath before God...even the democrats. And show me one person that does not endorse spending money with the oath "in God we Trust" engraved upon it?

And what does that make our Supreme Court? A group of nuts? When you walk up the steps to the building that houses our most Supreme Court....we find the lawgivers facing MOSES as he is holding the 10 commandments. And more clearly? When you open the twin doors to go in? You find a list of the 10 commandments of God.

What about the bible verses itched all over the buildings in DC?

James Madison was clearly a nutjob (the father of our constitution). "We have staked the whole of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, TO SUSTAIN OURSELVES ACCORDING TO THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF GOD." -- James Madison

Leave it up to snowflakes to revisit history actual and declare our founders.... WING NUTS. :dunno:

They didn't believe in the Rapture or the Scofield heresy.

Well, I don't think there's any worth in religion. Full stop.

Secondly, dogma is rigidity of thought, and religion is dogma. Hence, religion is rigidity of thought.

For something you find has no worth, you spend a lot of time talking about it moron. You will bow before God, and confess him Lord, like it or not! I don't care if you believe it or not just in case you wondered!

So...you are commanding I bow before God, but say you don't care if I do?

How's that work?

I command nothing, but you will bow before God, I can only pray this conversation flashes before your eyes when you do answer for your lack of faith!

A study published in the journal Neuropsychologia has shown that religious fundamentalism is, in part, the result of a functional impairment in a brain region known as the prefrontal cortex. The findings suggest that damage to particular areas of the prefrontal cortex indirectly promotes religious fundamentalism by diminishing cognitive flexibility and openness—a psychology term that describes a personality trait which involves dimensions like curiosity, creativity, and open-mindedness.
