Science

We've had a few thousand years of human history to evaluate this, and here's the scoop: science is a good thing. Without it, we've had periods like the Dark Ages. Science has saved a whole lotta people, given us an amazing standard of living, and for you space buffs out there, has even put us on the moon.

Real estate dudes don't really know science. They know real estate. Same with most other people who have expertise in a given area, but haven't really studied science, medicine or any other field in depth.

Let's keep going w/ science. It really is the better option.

I would agree that science is a good thing. It's a shame that the left tends to ignore science when it doesn't match their narratives on gender or sex differences.

Nobody is saying that transgender females are biologically female, dumbass.

There are people who downplay sex differences, which enables absurdities like allowing biological males to compete with biological females in sports, however.

There are other more serious consequences of this as well, like how many supposed transgender females were allowed to be put into female prisons and committed more violence against inmates than normal.

One of the simple truths of biological differences between men and women is that, on average, biological males have a strength and size advantage against biological females in terms of physical competition (and self defense), regardless of whether or not the biological male has transitioned or taken hormones.

Yes. Intelligent Design is not science. Period, end of story. The attempt to wedge it into public school curriculums has generally failed, but diligence is required.

Neither the Theory of Creation, the Theory of Abiogenesis, the Theory of the Big Bang, the Theory of the Continuum, nor the Theory of Evolution are science. None of these theories are falsifiable. They all remain circular arguments with arguments extending from them. They are all religions.

The Theory of Creation states that life arrived on Earth through the action of some kind of intelligence (it need not be a god or gods).

The Theory of Abiogenesis states that life originated on Earth through a series of random unspecified events.

The Theory of the Big Bang states that the Universe had a beginning, and will eventually have an end. The beginning is usually described as a highly concentrated energy and matter.

The Theory of the Continuum states that the Universe has always been here, and always will be here. There is no beginning, and there is no end.

The Theory of Evolution states that present day life is the result of more primitive live evolving into what we see today. This theory originated from Greece and has nothing to do with Darwin.

Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection was a theory of science until it was falsified by nullification of sequence. It is just a reversal fallacy now.

Public schools teach a lot that isn't science as 'science', including the Church of Abiogenesis, the Church of Evolution, the Church of Green, and the Church of Global Warming. They also teach the Church of Karl Marx.
It starts out as early as kindergarten, where they teach a tomato is a vegetable (it isn't). It does downhill from there.

Science has no theories about past unobserved events. They are not falsifiable. There is no way to test using a specific test that produces a specific result that would result in a possible False.

Based on how much federal funding and grants they can obtain. No bias there though. Fucking idiot.

Science is not a grant nor a research or study. It is not an university, credential, government program, or degree.
Science is just a set of falsifiable theories. That's it. That's all.

That's a different topic.

There are other more serious consequences of this as well, like how many supposed transgender females were allowed to be put into female prisons and committed more violence against inmates than normal.

I had a friend who is a transgender woman who was in a penitentiary. They had to transfer her to a med security prison because it was too dangerous for her.

That would depend. Buck Angel, for example, can take on 50 soy boys easily.

But the left is bad about putting the word ‘science’ in front of their proclamations as a way to advance them.

The 55 genders thing for one. Masks, more recently. There is no *hard science* behind either one. And if there’s no hard science, it becomes a matter of cherry picking which scientists you want to appeal to.

That’s the misuse of science. Science was never intended to be used as a political tool or a means to bring about social change.

The left has politicized science just like virtually everything else right up to the NFL and NASCAR.

They’re the worlds worst funsucks. They’re worse than the Christian fundamentalists ever thought about being.

Climate science is another good example of this. There's a conflict of interests involved in many analyses of climate data, because funding is tied to new findings. If your study doesn't present anything significant/new, then you're less likely to get funding in the future. This leads to some manipulation of data.

Afraid kids might begin to ask hard questions about Darwinism lol?

Or heaven forbid, start to doubt it?

Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection has been falsified by nullification of sequence. The Theory of Evolution, which came from Greece and not Darwin, is a religion. The theory is not falsifiable.

People are wrong, science is never wrong (or right). It's just facts and data. People can be wrong or bought. It's why there were ads like that pictured below. The science is never wrong, just wrong people.

Science is not a fact or data. Data is the result of an observation. All observations are subject to the problems of phenomenology. They are not a proof. They are evidence only. They are not science.

Science is a set of falsifiable theories.

That's a different topic.

I understand that there are concerns of safety for transgender inmates as well, but the solution isn't to just put transgender females in the same prisons as biological females. The UK has shown that this is a very bad idea, unless you want assaults and rapes against biological female inmates to increase.

When comparing apples to apples -- as in a man and woman of the same or similar size/weight, the man will have an advantage. Now, this is also assuming other things are equal. Obviously, a MMA female fighter will beat the crap out of the average guy, but a MMA female fighter vs. a MMA male fighter of the same experience and general size will usually result in the man winning. We saw how it took a while before Fallon Fox was finally defeated by a biological female.

My operating theory is "Idiocracy"; all of those wonders of modern medicine and Nanny State laws like seatbelts, helmet laws and such have saved stupid people from removing themselves from the gene pool for 60 years now; three generations of idiots replicating themselves like rabbits causing the collective IQ of the United States to drop down to "functional idiot" levels.

And science is not involved.

Of course, IQ is a meaningless number as well. A lot of people do, however, seem to have no problem with the government ordering them around like sheep though.

As far as seatbelts, they really do work. They are simple to use and reliable. They do not make sense on buses or most boats and ships, but they are very effective in things like cars, aircraft, etc.
Helmet laws are certainly excessive. While they can protect a head from getting injured if you're lucky, they really aren't that effective. They also reduce vision and hearing in some cases. They can save you from extra grief on a motorcycle if you have to lay the bike down to avoid an accident.

Well I have no idea about that. It's a different topic. A new thread might be needed on that.

No idea about that. Ever seen Russian women? Some of them can beat the crap out of experienced MMA fighters.

There is no such thing as 'climate science'. Climate has no value associated with it. 'Climate change' and 'global warming' remain undefined. 'Greenhouse effect' explanations deny science. No gas or vapor has the capability to warm the Earth.

The Church of Global Warming is a fundamentalist style religion that routinely denies science and mathematics.
