The point is that there is nothing sacrosanct about religion on a message board. Those who post religious comments SHOULD expect to see them challenged, no differently than anyother subject on this board.

If someone was here professing the glory of the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus and claiming that they're real, you would have an actual reason to refute them just as I refute the notion of god.

What cracks me up is the dummies who claim to be christians yet don't even know the bible.

AND, Moses was a murderer who escaped from the law, then god put him in charge of his terrorist armies who PREYED (their words) upon the innocent.

The Old Testament reads like a horror novel.

It's interesting; there are many who think that what Christ taught was actually antithesis to the OT, and that he rejected the OT completely. The whole idea of his philosophy was to put the OT in the past.

One of those guys - I think it was Paul? - couldn't handle that, though, so they found a way to merge both the old & new Testaments. Christianity should really just be the NT, imo (and even with that, there are a few caveats).

I don't disagree with that. It's no wonder that many christians either reject or ignore the OT .. however, shouldn't a god who knows everything have been able to forsee that the future would deem his actions as demonic and ungodly?

Even more interesting is the writing of the bible, especially the King James version.

Then there's the Council of Nicea, which most christians have no clue of.

The Bible is all about agenda. I think some of Christ's ideas make it through, but you really have to filter through a lot of BS to get to them. The Bible is kind of cool as an historical document, but as a guide for life or spirituality, not so much.

Is that the Council where they just decided to make Christ a deity?

That would be the one.

They decided that Jesus would be declared "divine" by vote.

Of course Constantine was hijacking christianity for his own political purposes and wanted Jesus declared divine.
