Schumer on Thursday had called for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions for failing to disclose under oath at his confirmation hearing that he had meetings with the Russian ambassador. Sessions had been serving as national security adviser to the Trump campaign at the time of his meetings with the ambassador.
