You get $1000 no matter what. So if you get $1500 per month from your job, you now have $2500 per month. Now there will be some people who choose not to work and just try to live on $1000. But because living on a grand a month is damn hard, very few people will do this. In fact, in the few towns where UBI has been tried, the only people who chose to quit their jobs were pregnant women and college students. Which is fine with me. I don't think pregnant women and college students should be working.
