The DNC is the party of Davos and Klaus "you will own nothing and be happy" Schwab not to mention black rock and Larry Frink who are out paying 20% over market value for homes so they can turn them into rentals and monopolize the housing market and jack up rent. Oh and don't get me started on Biden's war on single family home zoning.

I am a liberal atheist. I am also a productive tax-paying member of our society and a loyal American who enjoys freedom.

Yes, we have diametrically opposed views, but I can respect someone regardless of disagreement. Everyone is entitled to their own view. As long as you can share that respect mutually, I hope we can have some interesting discussions.

I'd like to caution that I will not tolerate any abuse, and voice a warning that when that starts I am very quick to shut it down. I regularly cut off anyone who tries to make the discussion about me, and subsequently I have a very large Ignore List. When I add names to the list, it is permanent, so that is why I put this warning out to newcomers. I simply refuse to be an enabler for online abuse. I hope that's not you and that we are able to discuss this in a mature manner.

Sorry to have our introduction marred by this warning, but the nature of this discussion board warrants it. I have no doubt some liberals will attack you personally but I will not. If abuse starts, I just block it and go find somebody else to talk to. Thanks for understanding.

Why do humans new to the planet require 'grooming?'

Isn't that for their parents to decide how to raise them?

The only 'grooming' I can see is the relentless pressure to believe in a fictitious creator / overseer being. Freedom should include the right to believe anything one desires, but I think it is going a bit too far to try to force others to believe, or to try to force one's chosen religion upon others. And religion is a choice.

Would you be in favor of a new law requiring everyone to attend a church?

Perhaps that particular church should also be chosen for them?

As long as we are going that far, maybe police should be able to arrest anyone who fails to pray before a meal?

Not very reasonable. Or accurate.

The Democratic Party, like America in general, is diverse and includes lots of views. And they understand that individuals should be allowed to be individuals.

It is the essence of freedom.

Freedom = choice.

And the freedom of a woman to choose what happens to her body.

The decision was based on legality issues and nothing else. Even Ruth said Roe Wade was on shaky legal ground. RW was an overstep by the court that passed it and this decision rights that legal wrong.

So much caring about the unborn - up until the moment of birth. Then the oppression begins.

After that, you're on your own. Dog eat dog. Oppress or get oppressed. Capitalism is the be-all end-all. The traders on Wall Street worship the NYSE like it is a deity. The 'source of wealth.' They think that's how wealth is created, trading in the products and services created by the actual workers who are taking home a paycheck. And then they all vote for taxes to be withheld from everybody's pay, but the big fat cat Wall Street traders don't even get paychecks. They get rich on capital gains, naturally taxed at a much lower rate than people actually doing real productive work.

We have enough messed-up people in this world that come from bad parenting.

How good a parent is someone who was forced by law to have a child they did not want to raise?
 
Gotta have more kids in school so there can be more mass shootings.

That way, gun profiteers increase their wealth.

Every time there is another mass shooting the knee-jerk reaction is more people go out and buy guns.

Gun deaths are a self-perpetuating problem.

People run out and buy guns but most get zero training.

Then the gun is in the home during big arguments. That's when emotional people do irrational things they later regret.

A gun in the home is more likely to be used in a domestic dispute than in defending property from an intruder.

A gun in the home is far more likely to be used for suicide than in defending property from an intruder.

Just the facts.

Nobody should have a gun unless they are completely free from any mental illness or emotional weakness. That rules out most people.

They only people who should have a gun should be those who are responsible and well trained to be a cold-blooded killer.

Police are trained to shoot to kill. That is how a gun is properly used. Anybody who is not fully prepared to be a killer should not have a gun.

Getting training once will not do it. It must be ongoing regular training. Situational training is the best. It's not cheap, but that way the reactions are there. They have been well rehearsed. There cannot be any hesitation when it comes down to shoot or be killed.

Owning a gun should come with required ongoing situational training. And regular drug testing.

Use drugs? Then you should not be allowed to have a gun.

Ya can't drive under the influence so you shouldn't be allowed to have a gun under the influence either.

OWI - Owning While Impaired.

It should be a thing.

It makes no sense to force people to bring new humans into a world where we have no resolved our gun problem.
