Saudi’s don’t respect TRump

They’re both Islamist.

Saudis are anti-Islamist and the young Saudi leader at least *claims* he wants to institute a more liberal government that grants rights to women, religious minorities and etc. So you have to factor that in.

The region is fricking complicated beyond words. It’s tempting to just stay the hell out of it altogether.

Qatar shares the South Pars gasfield with Iran so their loyalties lie with Iran.

This would have happened under Hillary had she been elected—not everything that happens in the world has to do with Donald Trump.

Khashoggi was MB and the MB are Islamist. He also crossed the House of Saud from what I understand. The Saudi ruler, apparently, if he keeps these tactics up, desires to be a secular strong man. Middle East secular autocrats are the lesser of two evils in that part of the world.

A lesson we all should well know by now.

If you (plural) would stop bringing Hillary into every one of trump's screw-ups, your opinions would hold more weight. Nobody knows what Hillary would have done. And it's still wrong to smear the dead man in defense of trump.

Ok, the same thing would have happened under President X lol.

I don’t care how much the media harps on it—Trump has nothing to do with what happened to Kashoggi.

To my knowledge nobody said trump had something to do with Khashoggi's murder. It's the weaselly way he's responded to it that's the problem. As usual trump has no clue about the Constitution.

"The US constitution protects any person on US soil—no matter what their status—and US citizens overseas. In 1896, the US Supreme Court ruled that “even an immigrant who had broken immigration law still had the right to make his case to a judge before being ‘deprived of life, liberty, or property.’ “

No, WashPo and The Resistance want Trump to jump the gun before all the facts are settled.

How many times do we need to learn the same lesson over and over in that part of the world?

Nope.. the US does not protect US citizens overseas.. They are subject to the laws of whatever country they are in. That's what "jurisdiction" means.

WaPo doesn't give a shit -they just want to jam up Trump. Trump is being methodical and deliberative in his approach

?

What a world we live in now - to hear someone who enthusiastically supported invading Iraq say that...

Thanks, I understand about the laws and jurisdiction but what I don't understand is what law Khashoggi broke while there.

Right on cue lol.

Since you tacitly agree with me, where is your outrage at the left for trying to goad Trump into making a brash foreign policy move on the Saudis?

Neither Trump nor the left nor the right know anything about the situation. Trump is looking out for Trump and operating in the dark.
