Saudi Arabia Strikes Back

You are complaining about putting down a Shite revolution in Bharain, while Iran has 100k Shiite militias in Iraq,
and 10's thousands of regular Quds forces in Syria/Iraq??

Why do you think SA went into Yemen, when it's border guards were continuously being shot..and *guess who*
IRAN AGAIN is fomenting the Houthi's.

Yemen is nasty war, and SA will not put any but special forces in there, relying on bombing the crap outta it.
But if they go in..how do they get out? It's a defensive war for them -Yemen is their soft underbelly. Iran is there to create mischief.

Did SA fund Hezbollah? wow.I didn't know that..I know Lebanon is a weak political state/army- but funding Hez is bizarre.
( Of course Iran has been doing it for years.. but hey..no problem?)

Obama has so screwed upin the ME I don't know if anyone can do better there now. It's a cluster
Why would Saudi Arabia fund a Shi'ite organisation like Hezbollah, that's crazy.

What do you mean by 'large nuclear infrastructure'? Iran does not have nuclear weapons capability.

it's so much cleaner to analyze the players playing then which side is of noble intent.
I can't believe that you wish to attribute either side w/ some kind of "noble intent"........... That is fucking ludicrous.........

THERE IS NOTHING "NOBLE" ABOUT IT, ANY OF IT, EVER!!! It is about power, influence etc etc etc :blah:

Nation states are little more than street gangs on a massive scale, you want noble you best look elsewhere, perhaps your favorite benevolent social group, religious affiliation etc..........

you seem to be saying Iran is more noble- being in the region- rather then the west.
I agree nobody has clean hands; it's always been about carving up for power, and the players jockeying for power.

Well my bad if I gave that impression......... You know my impression now.........

The USA was fine w/ them having that influence when our puppet pahlavi was there..

We are now forcing them into the arms of Russia & China & I guess what is sad here, is that IMHO it is inevitable & the only thing is question is how much influence the Russians, CHinese & who knows who else gets as a result.:dunno:

I realize the deeper the discussions, the more apt there are to be misunderstanding by text.

I don't see the US forcing the Iranians into anything - they chose their own path starting in 1979.

Obama tried a policy of "equilibrium" - keeping the US/Sunni relationship, but allowing for inroads with Iran.
It hasn't gotten us anything but a more hegemonist , anti-American agenda from Iran which Putin has exploited.

Putin has managed to also become a key player of events, while Obama watches from the sidelines.
Egypt was shaken so much it started to diversify with Russian weapons after Obama put sanctions on them for the Sisi coup.

As disgusting as Wahhabi is -it's their religion, their call -and we need to understand Sa and the Gulf states have the same interests we do.
Now it's become about checking Iranian expansionism. It started with Bush/Iraq and was fed by Obama

THeir "rulers" have some of the same interests & yet they are steadfastly opposed to our presence & our special friend in the Holy Land, just like all of their citizens..

How long do you believe we will remain dominate there & @ what cost??

we simply need to keep our influence.
wars of intervention do not do so - Libya/Iraq are very costly mistakes, as well unleashing daesh to terrify the population.

We've lost a lot of influence. go back to being a steadying influence- work for peace and cooperation,
but realize the regional players do look at everything as a zero sum game
