Sarah Palin

really dixie...really

i already explained to you how they are NOT the same symbol. the surveyor's mark circle covers the entire cross, in that the + symbol is inside the circle.....palin's map has the + symbol going outside the circle....

if you put that mark on a surveyor's map, it would not be an accepted mark

but go ahead and rant about how i want to appease liberals by calling your bullshit out

It's not bullshit. I posted the PDF which shows you every single symbol used and approved by the USGS, and Palin's symbol is indeed listed there. You are welcome to look for yourself, the link is there!

Now, if you think you are being cool supporting this meme from the liberals, that's fine... Perhaps you think Member's Only jackets make you cool as well? I don't fucking know what your problem is, maybe you were dropped on your head as a child? For whatever reason, you have decided to join the pinhead liberals in this fake controversy, fomenting the stupidity from the left, which seeks to restrict our free speech rights and limit gun ownership. If you want to knowingly and willingly be gullible and go along with this stupidity, again, that is entirely up to you. Don't expect ME to join you, and don't expect to get any accolades from people who aren't lying ass liberal hack jobs. Of course, that's all you are about, right Yurt? You ENJOY getting praised by fucktarded liberal pinheads, for some reason.... I haven't figured that fixation out yet.

Neither of those describes a "bullseye!"

I just heard Tiger Woods saying he was AIMING for the green because that was his TARGET and hes SHOOTING for a bird....

Holy Shit....is he really gonna shoot a bird on green ?
Is that his target ? An innocent bird ?
Hes really aiming for that ?

I'm fuckin' appalled....:palm:

How about you Apple The Pinhead ?

My goodness. You're as lost as Dixie.

OK, let's go over this again. When you hear the name Tiger Woods do you think of hunting? Do you associate his name with the Marines? Do you think of a sniper movie? Or does golf come to mind?

I'll leave it there for now until I see if you've followed along so far.

bullshit

post both symbols dixie....i dare you

Yurt, go look on your box of cereal... or any printed packaging in your home... you will find, somewhere in an obscure location, a "cross hair" on the package. Do you think this is placed there because they want to infer violence? Are they trying to provoke someone into going on a killing spree? Does it mean they are "pro-gun" because they used the symbol? Nope... it's a common thing in printing, called a "registration mark" and it looks very similar to a "cross hair" or a "surveyor's mark" ....it's on ANYTHING that is printed, somewhere!

As for posting the symbols, all symbols have been posted. The map of Palin's was posted, and I posted the link to the PDF which chronicles every USGS symbol, including the one Palin used. Why are you asking for something that has already been presented?

We don't base facts on perceptions... sorry!

Lets get something straight pinhead....when I think of Sarah Palin, I think of Miss Wasilla, Alaska...not a fuckin' hunter.
You're the one thats freakin' lost.

Well me thinks you need to get in line for your jello cup, Bubble Boy!

What in the living fuck is the absurdity in pointing out that a "bullseye" is the corporate logo of Target? Any sane people here who thinks that is absurd, please speak up?

Now, I think we can all reasonably assume Target Corporation is not inciting violence or suggesting people be "targeted" for assassination. But that is the presumption you are making about Palin and the use of a geological marking on a map.

As I said before both you and Bravo are having difficulty with association.

We'll take it slow. No problem.

When you think of Target stores what comes to mind? ......OK, that may be a tough question for you. Let's try this. When someone mentions Target stores do you think of weapons?

Target does sell guns such as the "Saturator AK-47 Water Gun - for $17.99 and they do sell caulking guns but they don't sell fire arms. Therefore, one is not likely to associate (there's that word again, associate) the "bulls-eye" or "target" with guns. Guns, as in fire arms. As in hunting. As in killing.

Idiot, the fucking map was not an homage to Sarah Palin and her personal interests! There is no reason whatsoever, in context of the actual map in question, for there to have been anything related to Sarah Palin's personal hobbies and interests. It was a map showing places where Republicans could make inroads in the election!

I don't care that Giffords commented on the map before the shooting, that doesn't connect the shooter to the map! So far, there has been NO CONNECTION made with this nutbag and anything remotely related to the right or the Tea Party, or Sarah Palin's map! This is all ginned up conjecture and bullshit from the liberal left, and if Yurt wants to suckle up to the ass of Liberals here, that's entirely up to him, most of us are not idiots.

Let's not go all over the place here. The focus of the discussion is Palin's map and the symbols. I've never said that particular shooter was connected to the map. I have said it is reasonable to associate the map with cross hairs and guns because of the individual to whom the map belongs and other words she has used such as "reload".

To say or imply the symbols could be surveyor's markings is as wacky as suggesting when a surveyor adds lead to his mechanical pencil he is "reloading".

Come on, Dix. You know your logic/argument is horse sh!t.

translation:

i will not post palin's map symbol next to the symbol i claim is just a geographical symbol.

:awesome:

We're talking about imagery, not what someone mentions, so let's stick with that... When I see a Target store, the logo makes me think of a target, which is an object marked with concentric circles, and commonly used in shooting practice and contests. I don't think about shooting a Congressman.

When I see a map on a political website, discussing the upcoming elections and various political battles, denoted by a mark commonly used on maps to mark places of interest, I don't think about shooting Congressmen. When a politician says, of the political debate, we don't need to retreat, we need to reload, it doesn't make me think I should go find a Congressman to shoot. If I see a billboard with an advertisement for talk radio, and there are bullet holes in it, I don't view that as a call to go shoot someone. When the President of the United States says "if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun" ....I don't presume his comments are intended literally.

Also, when I think of hunting and hunting guns, I never think about pointing a firearm at someone, much less shooting them. When I think of hunting, it doesn't make me want to go and shoot a politician. When I mention hunting to my friends, they fully realize I am not advocating assassination of Congressmen. When I see the registration mark on my box of Cheerios, it doesn't make me want to go out and find a political rally and mow people down. Finally, when I see a map on a political website, I don't even think about violence, hunting or guns.

Of course, I am also not a goofy liberal pinhead, or deranged killer.

Well Yurt, if I knew how to extract the images from a PDF and from the website JPG posted previously, I would do that... but then, couldn't you just claim I fabricated it all? The sources are there for you, all you have to do is go look. The PDF I posted earlier, has the exact symbol used by Palin, as I have consistently said, it is a very COMMON geological symbol, used widely on a variety of maps. If you ignorantly want to maintain that is somehow not true, or not the reality in which we live, that is entirely up to you. But I posted the proof already, stop acting like a fucking retard.

Oh yeah, Bubble Boy, I forgot one more thing... Whenever I DO see a "cross hair" even IN the context to guns and shooting things, I don't think of a Glock 9mm, they don't have scopes with cross hairs.

You're the one thats freakin' lost.

And when you're thinking of Miss Wasilla what image comes to mind when you associate that with "reload"?

(This ought to be good!):)

Back to square one. As I said at the beginning certain flashing images will cause some people to have seizures. Their brain works differently.

We know how heated political rhetoric can get. Some people take it to the extreme. Maybe not killing people but certainly provoking violence. Common sense dictates it be toned down.

Unfortunately, you're the one in the bubble if you don't know some people do associate cross hairs with fire arms.

Pot smoking causes some people to have the same kind of reactions, and this killer was a known pot user. Therefore, we should immediately ban any and all use of pot, and never consider any type of legalization again. Common sense dictates this, by your own argument.
