Sandra Day O'Connor Says Obama Should Get To Replace Justice Scalia

So the democrat party was unreasonable when they were filibustering judicial nominations?

Come across your posts chastising the democrat party yet?

I will understand if there aren't any

I don't like filibustering ever, not from Democrats or Republican. It is undemocratic in my opinion.

Who the President picks also makes a difference. If Barry was to pick someone as controversial and repugnant as Alberto Gonzales and I say "repugnant" as he was the Bush attorney who argued in favor of using torture. There's simply no place in public life for grossly immoral people like that.

Now if the Dems nominate a candidate who wants to mandate free abortions for all...tenth abortion for free....than that person might have a hard time getting an up and down vote either.

Barry, however and thank the good lord above for this, isn't a post turtle nit wit like Dumbya. He's not going to submit a nominee like Elizabeth Warren or Bill Clinton.

He will pick a well qualified candidate. If he does than the process with Grind on. Maybe the political cost for the GOP will be to high to vote down the nomine and maybe it won't.

But if Barry nominates a sick fuck like Alberto Gonzales I sure as hell hope someone filibusters.

is voting against a nominee unconstitutional?

No

is filibustering unconsitutiional?

No

Is refusing to act on the nomination unconsitutional?

YES

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appointments_Clause

Full text of the clause[edit]
He[The President] shall have the Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two-thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Councils, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.

they can trash his appointment all they want.

they can not just refuse to do their jobs of getting the positions filled.

that is refusing to dot the work of the people.

they took an oath

don't you follow the news?

he said in like a week

your shits are going to really boost the black voter tallys this year

They can also schedule a vote for 5 days after November 8th... It's constitutional Desh, even if you cry rivers every day about it.

NO ONE is stopping Obama from nominating someone. Are you saying that whomever he nominates should automatically be confirmed?

Since the Senate is doing what the people that elected them to do voted for with a Republican majority, I'd say they are doing their job. NOTHING says that have to confirm anyone just because the President gave them a name.
