I support eastern Ukrainians choosing the government they wish to be run by. If the elections Russia ran in eastern Ukraine are legitimate, they chose to be part of Russia.

Do you support Quebec doing the same? What about the English Canadian provinces choosing to become American States?

I do indeed support Quebec having the right to vote to leave Canada. I'm also glad that in both referendums that they had on the matter, they voted to stay with Canada. I strongly suspect the reason they chose that is that, unlike Ukraine, Canada supported Quebec's rights to keep using their local language of French in government offices.

The UN didn't recognize them as legitimate.

By Russia's own admission they didn't poll all the people who live there.

I bet that if you polled only the Israelis who lived in the WB and E Jerusalem, they would vote to join Israel too.

Also, that "referendum" was against Ukrainian law, wasn't administered by Ukraine, and had nothing to do with the Ukrainian government or any international body.

And you can't find a single person in those regions who supports joining Russia today.
