Same Sex Marriages

"Were you never taught not to answer a question with a question? Nobody respects that,.... its all about muddying the waters. "

Hilarity in total ignorance continues. Dumb as a stone doesn't appear to realize that no less than Jesus himself is THE principle exponent of this method of debate this side
of Socrates. Seriously? In a Christian thread some Christian tard bemoanes the Socratic method? Seriously? Seriously? Saturday night live skit comedy material, and unintentional to boot.

They are very uneducated, in Hebrew school we used that method , our Talmud is just that, questioning and discussing the original Hebrew texts of Torah or what westerners call the Socratic method , funny that they quote Hebrew scriptures which has nothing to do with their religion

Agreed.

Nonsense. The prohibitions mentioned by the god Jesus worshiped (and Paul worshiped) were not to be changed. Certain prohibitions, particularly that of circumcision and dietary restrictions were modified for non-Jews entering the church.

But to suppose a law like the one mentioned in Leviticus 20...suddenly is changed...is absurd.

When Paul and the apostles decided to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles, they knew they could not succeed if they demanded Gentiles basically accept Jewish Law and do everything the Hebrew Bible said to do.

The faith they brought to the Gentiles was explicitly about the meaning of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Paul's epistles even articulates that Gentiles are not subject to Jewish law, the important point of the gospel is salvation by grace.

Otherwise, Christianity would have just remained a small sect within Judaism, rather than evolving into an entirely new monotheistic religion.

There always was debate in Christianity about how much of the Jewish law Christians were supposed to enforce.

What about the Queers? What does the Talmud say about men butt-fucking each other?

Modified by whom?

By the presbyters of the community church of Jerusalem...who met with Paul, eter, Barnabas and possibly other apostles.

They invoked the Holy Spirit as agreeing with their modifications of the need for circumcision and for adherence to some dietary restrictions for gentiles who joined the religion.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. I take this verse differently then!

Thank you, Wolverine. IBDaMann is a Heathen and knows not what he talks about.

Do you have any documentation for that? (using my best USF911 voice)

If you want quoted verses you can find the ones from the New Testament below:

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
1 Timothy 1:10
Romans 1:26-27

All of those verses speak of the "evils" of homosexuality, the last one even speaks to lesbianism and homosexual men rather than just dudes like some of the other ones...

Of course, some of these can be argued that interpretation may lack actual understanding.

People need to ask themselves.........WHY would someone who is supposedly the guardian of the faith go directly against the teachings of the faith as written in the Bible? BTW......all this is being done against the backdrop of decades and decades of suppressing the truth about what was being done to young boys within the church. Not exactly rocket science here......;) How sickeningly corrupt can it get!!!

Or maybe -and just hear me out- you're the one who is wrong about God.

Yes. Women engaged in sodomy (sex for purposes other than creating children). Women had sex with more than one committed partner. All of these things were considered cultural taboo for women of the time, who existed for the purpose of giving children to men and for the purpose of caring for those children. But none of this is relevant to the Bible simply not saying that women having sex with other women is bad. You are making the case that someone reading the Bible could reasonably stretch the meanings of certain phrases to infer that lesbianism is being discussed. Fine. All I'm saying is that one must stretch the interpretation because the Bible does not specifically say it.

I'm not saying your interpretation is wrong, just that it is an interpretation.

While I am certainly a heathen, a Gentile, an infidel, a denier, ... all the slurs ... I can nonetheless read English and I know the historical background.

Do you have an excuse for being unable to read?

Thanks. Somewhere it mentions 'abomination'. And, I understand it's been translated a few times, so it may not be 'precise', but probably is accurate in 'tone'.

So, the Question is: 'Who do we follow?'

1. God's Law.
2. Man's Law.

IMO, 'God's Law' is unchanging and set in a Primitive Time.
'Man's Law' is conditioned on changing as times change, and uses Reason & Logic to come to conclusions.

So, basically ... who cares what some Fruitcake says in Rome when we live in America and it's the 21st century.

Fun to watch you fall apart in tears of impotent rage each and every time you come here.

Nice owning you.

O.K owl. BTW..........Hows THE SOO treating you these days. Is it still the same old impoverished shithole it always was with the worst weather imaginable or has it improved any?

Your lack of Documentation is revealing. Very revealing.

Any really religious person would back gay marriage and all other LBGTQ activities. They are simply acting as God made them. Haters are backing the devlis work. They do not know what they are doing. real religious people would do all they could to help gays live normal lives without fear and hate.

But what about the Bible ... and God?
