That's been an often stance. Like me, I don't understand why we don't give them a union with the same rights. That's the ticket, rights. Anyone opposed to gays having a certifiable union with all the rights is silly. Call it something else if they must, but it has to have the same family laws and rights. The terminolgy can be kept as it is and still give them a recognized union with all the same rights. I will say this goes both ways though. The ones on the other side that may push that not being good enough can grow up too. Let the religious have their marriage and gays can have their couple and family rights with their own label of union.

^ That is the Jewish Bible, aka Old Testament.

In Christianity there has always been theological debate about how much of the Jewish Law Christians had to follow. According to Paul, salvation is attained by grace alone, not by following the Jewish law.

And yet 20 or especially 50 years ago it wasn't silly at all. It was a hot rail no conservative would come within 90 yards. It was a love that dare not speak its name.

Being conservative ALWAYS means having to look ridiculous in retrospect and to have to say "I'm sorry, I was a fucking idiot" No exceptions.

For geocentric cosmology to same sex marriage and each and every stupidity in between, that is the fertile soil in which the conservative beetle thrives. Dumb as dirt.

Unfortunately that was considered proper punishment back in that dark age when a lot of that was written. An ounce of understanding of Christ and you know that is not OK. The Old Testament really should be re-translated through the guise of Christ rather than relying on us to do it ourselves. I mean, we are Christians after all, not God fearing barbarians.

Totally agree. But, homosexuality is also mentioned in the new testament as well.

I’ve never read a story of a homosexual being stoned in the Bible. I have read of an adulteress.

If I may clarify, the Bible specifies that men having homosexual sex is an abomination but says nothing about the homosexuals themselves specifically, and makes no mention of women/lesbian sex.
