Historically that’s true.

But the people who are referred to as Palestinians need to rid themselves of Hamas [or allow Israel to do the job for them] and then, we can talk about two state solutions. And then, the Israelis will have no need to retaliate every 7-8 years and bring the region to the brink of war.

Palestine is a UN-recognized state which is also recognized by no less than 138 countries. Those that say there is no Palestine are away with the fascist fairies.

I am afraid I do not agree with you on this one Moon (and I am not a Jew). There has never been a country called Palestine. It is a geographic region. What do you suggest Israel do when terrorists such as Hamas are lobbing rockets into their country killing innocents?

You're mistaken, Port Tack. Even if you ignore historic references to Palestine as a country- which is, after all, a geographic region, then your misconception is undermined by the creation of a Palestinian state alongside a Jewish state in 1947 by way of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181- which passed and it therefore accepted into law. We do not refer to religious or other historic texts in our legal machinery today. We refer to modern, international law- and so Palestine exists, even if it is not recognized by the spear-carriers of Beelzebub. The United Nations recognizes Palestine as do 138 states. To its everlasting shame, the US is not one of them. That will change, I believe.

As for ' what should Israel do ? ' there are several threads here which chronicle the provocations of the Neo-Zionists which echo Sharon's defilement of Jerusalem which led to the Second Intifada. Tear gas, rubber bullets, stun grenades, the beating of Al Aqsa worshipers , the forced evictions, the killings and the spraying of sewage must end. So, firstly, the provocations must cease. That should be followed by the recognition of the Palestinian state, according to international law. In essence......no invasion = no resistance to invasion. Izrael will die by its own sword unless Neo-Zionism is defeated.

Israel has always been open to recognizing Palestine, it is Palestine that refuses to recognize Israel.

And the Palestinians kicked out whoever was there before them. It’s the way the tide of human history rolls. The Assyrians kicked the Jews out of the same region before the Babylonians did. Then the Romans took it all over for some time. Then the Crusaders and finally the Ottoman Turks had their way with it.
