Ryan Gosling saves stupid woman from dying in traffic, she's offended as a feminist

Next time I'm back East and two women are really nice to me I'm running! :)

LOL Oh come on, you're so sweet I don't see why you'd have to run. I am talking about douchbags, you know, like SF. hahha No, like, well do I really have to name names here Cawacko? I am sure you know who they are.

They might not know. With you being so shy and everything.

So, there I was walking down the street, buying wigs, loving life, thinking of having an extra abortion next time so I won't have to go to two visits when I started walking across the street, trying to get hit by a taxi, and this terrible man touched me and ruined my plans! He touched me inappropriately on the arm! Bastard!

I hate that he tried to help me, because he's a man. All men should know that they should never help a woman. He should have called a woman over to grab my arm and pull me from traffic! It was a terrible misogynistic display that should never be repeated. Who's with me?!!!

Another right-wing rag portraying a liberal woman as an ungrateful pig. She's not offended by being saved. Read her Twitter feed.

He's on a roll! Ryan Gosling might be a dreamboat to some, but he's the saving grace of British writer Laurie Penny, who says he prevented her from walking into traffic in New York this week.

"I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling," Penny tweeted on Tuesday night, long enough after April Fool's Day for it to not immediately be pegged as a prank. "Literally," she continued. "That actually just happened." Eventually, Penny, whose stated interests include "journalism, feminism, tea and sedition," (and now, not talking about Ryan Gosling) might have regretted tweeting that message, because a lot of people suddenly wanted to know more about her little Gosling escapade. After all, the actor had broken up a Manhattan street fight last summer. He's always doing good things!

"EVERYBODY NEEDS TO CALM DOWN ABOUT RYAN GOSLING NOW," Penny tweeted. "My phone and e-mail have been going crazy with media requests all night and all morning and it's getting silly now." Gosling eventually trended on Twitter because of the story. And Penny has vowed to leave Twitter, for the time being.

First of all that's not at all what she said. Second of all, I am pretty convinced by now that some of you guys post shit just in the hopes it will piss me off. I think you like to watch my reaction. I mean, the only other explanation is that you are all that stupid, but I really don't believe that.

LOL. I'm sorry you took it so seriously. Well, not really.

I get what she's saying; it isn't that nutty, or ungrateful.

The media portrayal of that story did really run w/ the whole "dreamy Ryan saves helpless woman" narrative. It's what the media does. If the story isn't compelling enough on its own, they'll do whatever they have to w/ it.

Oh no way, if this had been me I would still be "thanking" him.

You guys have the total wrong impression of me. It's because men on the internet are mainly animals and pigs and need to be put in their place often. I'm actually very sweet in person.

Thats interesting.....

So we have a totally wrong impression of you.......and of course you have a totally reasonable and legitimate impression of the men you've only known online....

You're very sweet and the men are animals and pigs.......you really think thats fair?

Men are mainly animals and pigs ?

Maybe you're going a little overboard on your assessments of others on what amounts to nothing more than differing political views.

I do it too....

We should all realize, the 'tone' of our posts, in the heat of debate, without doubt earns a response in kind.....usually distorting our impressions of one another....

and of course, its a two way street.....

Totally. Although when I made my post above I was thinking about some abortion thread where you and LadyT had made jokes about having abortions all the time, even before sex "just in case"...

I laughed then.
