I could have easily supported the liberation of the LDNR (donbas) region as it's all but Russian in everything but lines on a map. and the war was already going on

Anyone who doesn't profoundly understand history, especially the history of the East Slavs is never going to understand Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Marupiel.

People in Leningrad ate rats and sawdust for two years rather than submit and surrender to the invading Nazi legions at the gate. That is completely outside the experience of Americans, Brits, Canadians, Australians, et al.

The posters here, and the Republicans in Congress who have since February 25 been calling on Ukranians to lay down their arms and submit, are just ignorant of historical context.

I am the one telling you why that won't happen.


I do not believe Invaders should be rewarded for their illegal aggression and war crimes.

That is why Zalensky is not offering to turn over huge swaths of sovereign Ukrainian territory to satisfy Putin's imperialistic ambitions.

Where does that stop? Putin's word absolutely cannot be trusted, and he could be back in five years demanding more Ukranian territory. Just yesterday we learn that Putin wants all of southern Ukraine, all the way to Moldova.

The lessons of Neville Chamberlain and the Sudetenland are right at our fingertips

The only thing that should be on the negotiating table is Ukranian neutrality, backed up by security guarantees.

Zelensky wants civilian people trapped to fight to the last man
which is why some talks are desperately needed = negotiations

The alternative is unknown months/years more of this
