Then WHY did he travel all the way here to sign the deal which in turn signals the beginning of getting a cease fire and then eventually a peace agreement to end the war? WHY? You KNOW that all parties involved had it all worked out well beforehand right ? So you think its ok that a deal was in place,....then Z flew all the way here then when he got here tried to renig on the deal and flip the script once the cameras were rolling? Nope,....not how Trump rolls,...instead Trump told him to eat shit and GTFO of here. Z wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over played his hand. Now unfortunately his country will suffer the consequences. Cease Fire then negotiations is not happening.....the Russians have been very clear on this point for at least a year.

The collapse happened because of flaws in the Soviet Union....at most Reagan slightly changed the timeline.....the story that it was the genius of Reagan is Reagan myth building.

That's all they do. Same with North Korea and Red China and Iran. They all cave and scurry off back under their rocks when stood up to.

While I support neutering Putin and look forward to his fellow gangsters putting three slugs in the back of his head, Zelensky has to account for the money and goods his admin can't come up with. Ukraine shot itself in the foot over that, so he has little scope for outrage here. It's more than stupid to allow that level of corruption when your country is fighting for its life. I would be putting a few thieves against a wall and shooting them for stealing, and in fact wish Trump would do that here re corruption affecting our national security.

Obama tried to get Ukraine to surrender by refusing to offer them military support in the Crimea and Donbas.

Then Biden tried to get Z to surrender, offering to immediately fly him out of Ukraine.

I'll have to disagree. The Soviets went bankrupt under Brezhnev, in 1973, due to both Viet Nam and backing the failed Arab invasions of Israel and being shut down in Africa; they couldn't sustain their proxy wars any longer. We kept them fed and well supplied with refined petroleum imports for years; Gorbachev shut down the hardliners in the Party, and in spite of Reagan's bloviating. His nonsense just kept the hard liners in power 3 years longer, is all. They knew he was a punk when he caved in to the Iranian extortions and ran away from Lebanon.

LBJ and Nixon won the Cold War; Reagan just happened to be taking naps in the White House when it went down, is all.

I am getting the sense from Mearsheimer that in Turkey the Russians again said what they have been saying for a very long time about what needs to happen in Ukraine.......there will be no negotiation.......there will be capitulation.

Yep. Obama was busy providing aid and comfort to all of our enemies, especially Putin and Iran. He is the sole reason Putin felt great about invading Crimea, and of course invaded Ukraine a month after meeting Biden and seeing what a loser he was.

IMO, it boiled down to the destruction of, and lack of good worker ethics which socialism destroyed.
