Canceled
RUSSIA is heading for a major recession this year, with the economy to contract by as much as 12 percent, Western officials believe.

The impact of sanctions imposed on Moscow by the UK, US and EU are having a devastating impact with the Kremlin scrambling to keep the economy afloat. Moscow has been badly hit by measures being slowly ratcheted up since the invasion of Ukraine on 24th February.

So is China as well as the US.

So do you think this was is a coincidence ?

Nothing like a war to make dent problems go away.

maggot- the Brits have record inflation, impossible energy bills, Brexit snarl-ups, collapsing businesses, a confirmed liar at the helm, food banks keeping folk alive - and no friends in Europe.

You're doing well.

Haw, haw..............................haw.

Only 12%?

That would be failure for the West.

I dont see what the west has to gain with a Russian "recession"

You should check the geopolitics on that.

It's all about pressure on Putin to change course. Granted, he may have lost his mind & doesn't care about the citizenry there anymore - but economic pressure is the best the world can do at the moment, as well as supplying the Ukraine w/ weapons and giving humanitarian aid.

We all knew "Going it alone" is not a great strategy in such a world where we actually need everyone on the same page!

That strategy is not good for the USA either!

WE LIVE AND LEARN!

Every country can do a lot for themselves, but we all need others- in some ways!

Now, Russia will learn this valuable lesson!

Would it really make a difference in Russia? Being an autocracy, the people have no options but live with it, not like they are going to rise up and dispose of Putin, besides, he'll just sell that it is all the fault of the West and use it for support for his endeavors

But with the global repercussions, it is something China does not want to see

The Russian people do not think like Americans, something that the vast majority of Americans are too ignorant to know.

Also putting the West down is high priority for China.

Globalism is dead....killed by America.

"Globalism is dead," really?

Guarantee that half the clothing you are currently wearing was made in Bangladesh or somewhere in South Asia, majority of your kitchen appliances in China, parts in your vehicle from somewhere in the Far East, and the cheese used in your local restaurant processed in Europe, if that ain't globalism, what is?

Nor do Europeans, nor Japanese, nor South Africans, and China may aim at putting down the West, but he common denominator for anything China does is economics, especially with their economy unsteady

Oh yeah- maggot- and your entire country is rotten with the Covid viruses and your consumer-capitalist government has abandoned it to its fate.

Globalism is dead....killed by America.

Globalism is never dead- and the USA didn't kill it!

Why do you say such foolish things?

Are you one of those idiots that no one can tell you a thing- so you just say things that are not based on the truth or facts- and think- that is the way it is?

Who told you that- or did you just make it up?

Globalism started with Ancient Rome- AND HAS NEVER STOPPED!

LMAO.

He never cared about anyone but himself, and the small handful of billionaires he allowed to become wealthy.

However, I believe that starving people will eventually demand his head on a spike. At least, that's the general concept.

Russia is massive and resource-rich. It can flourish if a new Iron Curtain comes down on every NATO state. It also has powerful friends.

No it can't, the mere fact that its economy prior to its Ukraine invasion wasn't as big as South Korea's, in fact, California has nearly double the GDP, on its own, Russia would evolve into a third world nation
