Russian air activity remains high over Donbas, UK military intelligence says

Weapons don't win wars. Thwarting an invasion by a Super Power requires commitment and tenacity of Ukrainian men and women, combined with good strategy and tactics.

I knew back in January that the Ukranian armed forces could and would inflict substantial damage on Putin's Invaders.

And I am neither a flag officer or a prominent military analyst

I find it hard to believe my judgment and knowledge were more sound than Putin and the Russian high command -->
weapons do win wars -why else do you think Zelensky is begging for them?
Absent JAVELIN and drones Russian tanks would roll thru Kyiv

Weapons help. But they don't win wars. Winning requires commitment, tenacity, leadership, strategy and correct tactics.

Ukrainians refused to surrender -- even to a global super power - despite the American MAGA contingent screaming since February 25 for Ukraine to submit

weapons determine the war. you cant win a war without them

I never said you can win a modern war with bows and arrows.

The Afghan National Army had some of the best weapons America could provide, and they melted away in two weeks in the face of a rag tag band of Taliban militia.

Unless Putin and the Russian intelligence services have the IQ of Donald Trumpf, they must have known Europe and America wouldn't sit helplessly on their hands while Putin invaded Ukraine. Contingency planning by the Russians surely accounted and took into consideration that Ukraine would have access to military supplies from NATO countries.

THE ANAF was trained to have air cover. we didnt provide it by pulling out contractors, and they could not fight without it

I dont think anyone saw how drones and JAVELIN would be a game changer. Putin should have.
His Wagner Group was in Libya -the most high tech battlefield before this war
I agree trying to take all of Ukraine was a mistake. - he should have bitten off the east.

But Putin allowed his timetable to be the wars timetable -cant do that.

So you finally admit if an army won't stand and fight, if it doesn't have good leadership, if it doesn't have commitment, all the weapons in the world won't help.

Here's another one: We spent a decade training the Army of the Republic of Vietnam and gave them our top of the line weaponry.

But they basically wouldn't stand and fight during North Vietnam's 1975 offensive. They essentially melted away, with the exception of a few units.

no I said the ANAF lacked air support- that's weapons. of course an army cant flee like the Iraqi's did when confronted with ISIS - and motivation makes the best use of weapons.
S Vietnam was a colonial vestige in a civil war

North Vietnam was part of that same colonial heritage, but they were willing to fight.

South Vietnam was a sovereign state with good weapons and a large army. They weren't willing to fight, despite American training and weapons.

France generally had better weapons than Germany in 1940, according to some military historians. But the French Army collapsed in less than a month because of poor moral, bad leadership, bad strategy, and a lack of will to fight.

I could do this all day.

You are just trying to tip toe away from admitting that all the best weapons in the world won't make any difference if morale, leadership, and the will to fight are missing.

i agree with the bolded

i agree with the bolded

In the Six Day War, the Arab coalition of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria were comparably equipped compared to Israel, and actually had more men under arms than Israel

But they were routed in six days, because their weapons weren't enough to make up for their lack in leadership, tactics, and willingness to fight.

tactics

in response to the apparent mobilization of its Arab neighbours, early on the morning of June 5, Israel staged a sudden preemptive air assault that destroyed more than 90 percent Egypt’s air force on the tarmac. A similar air assault incapacitated the Syrian air force. Without cover from the air, the Egyptian army was left vulnerable to attack. Within three days the Israelis had achieved an overwhelming victory on the ground, capturing the Gaza Strip and all of the Sinai Peninsula up to the east bank of the Suez Canal.

Putin's massive and historic blunder is he thought the Ukrainian armed forces wouldn't have the will to fight for a "drug addled Nazi regime", regardless if they had NATO weapons or not.

It's hard to believe Putin was that naive. I am not a military expert, but even I knew the Ukrainian armed forces could pack a punch and they would stand their ground and fight.

you people are fucking stupid.

the point of this war was to get 50 billion dollars out of the united states for deep state nwo purposes.

why are you guys playing along with this shit?

WHen stuff like "uk military says" is in the headline, that means its bullshit.

when news outlets really think something is true, they don't add those weasel words.
