I actually agree. Congress has been useless for years , maybe decades now. Candidates should just run on proclaiming to be a better investigator than their opponent.

Here's the thing: not everyone is a hardcore anti-Trumper. Many of them see the investigation as a cynical ploy by the left, some republican neocons and the media to either reignite the Cold War with Russia; or block Trump's agenda, or even better, remove him from office. You won't get them on board with this vendetta---it's way more likely you will alienate them if it succeeds.

Have you checked the poll numbers for your own party lately?

Call it a hunch.

People aren't stupid. Many of them can see the lack of evidence coming out of the hearings; they see the neocons aligning with the left and they're going to put 2 and 2 together.

And a recent poll showed that 67% of voters think democrats are out of touch with them. I'd say it's a pretty good hunch that democrats would further alienate themselves if they succeeded in removing Trump.

But again, is most likely an academic exercise so we'll probably never know if I'm right.

You're basing it on nothing but your own bias.

There was no "backlash" at the polls because of a fruitless investigation into Hillary - which we now find out had some very exaggerated claims. You're just inserting your own wishful thinking into this.

And again, I'll explain investigations to you: they do not release their findings on an ongoing basis while an investigation is still underway.

And how many have gotten any further then Flynn?
Flynn was Yates focus - Flynn looks to be indictable -in other words this supposed "Russian collusion"
isn't really anymore then "Flynngate" ( and the couple others names I mentioned)..

In other words Russiagate as a grand conspiracy looks DOA.
