He's an crafty guy -sit down and start some talks and get some mutual understanding of what either side won't tolerate. Use that as a stopping point. Then try to find some mutual interests.

It's not like we haven't been dealing with Russia over the years. You make it sound like we've been nothing but hostile.

Saying "Putin is Putin" is a cop-out, too. You can say that about any ruthless dictator.

The whole "Russian connection" with Trump and his campaign is something you should at least be concerned about, instead of dismissive and even ridiculing. It's not a "Trump hysteria" thing. I mean, seriously - I can only imagine what you'd be saying if some of this news was coming out about Hillary & her team had she won.
 
Regardless of where you stand (I personally lean toward the McCain warmonger camp :D ), if we can get through the next fifteen years of US-Russian relations, hopefully there will come a generation of statesmen who didn't experience the Cold War, and perhaps aren't as combative toward one another.

He knows Donnie Dump can't do a damned thing about it either if he doesn't want the pee-pee videos and all the other dirt released.
