Russia May Have Just Given Ukraine Terms for Ending War

Atop Kremlin official on Saturday suggested Russia could agree to an end to the war in Ukraine if a key condition is met

During a press conference at the United Nations General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov indicated Russia would recognize Ukraine's borders prior to Moscow's invasion if Kyiv pledges to not join a military alliance.

Another Western fantasy is that Russia will agree to freeze military operations for a few years so that Ukraines military can rebuilt for another go.

No way the Russians agree to that.

Could be interesting, the Ukraine could agree, and add a condition regarding Putin invading again would mean automatic membership. Or, at a later date, actually join NATA even with the prior agreement. Even perhaps interpret it as an offer from a weakened Russia, and push forward with with war

If I am not mistaken, the Ukraine even said at one time they would cease fighting till the Crimea was returned

yeah, Russia attacked Ukraine. There was no war until Putin crossed the lines. Ukraine's army has been blasted by Putin for over a year. But we can see why Ukrainians would never trust Russia again. Many Russians vacationed in Ukraine. They went there to party. I doubt they will be treated well after this.

There will either be a negotiated deal or else Russia will take all of Ukraine even though they dont want that....the West has lost....not even inserting NATO troops will change that.

On this subject you have zero grasp of reality.

It is not at all clear that there will be a Ukraine when this is over.....Russia and Poland might split it.

I have a hard time seeing Putin give up Crimea. That would be the end of him.

I can possibly see Russia giving up it's claims on Kherson, Kharkiv Oblasts, and the unoccupied areas of Donbass.

Putin desperately wanted Holy Kiev, but he knows now that ain't happening.
 
The Russians have been very clear that there will be no negotiations till there is regime change in Kiev. Alexander Mercouris is today reporting that the children in Washington have decided that Zelenski has to go.

Back in reality space the children in Washington are shocked and dismayed that the Russians refuse to even talk about their freezing the conflict pipe dream.
