You have the best American lawyers in America and were I to have a business with an American presence I would employ an American lawyer, but as an 'export commodity' American lawyers are only useful in those countries with an American based legal system. For example our legal infrastructure is either Chinese or British (history), however most firms of substance will have a pet yank on the books for occasional use. Rather like a pool table!

I knew a ATC back then when it was going down and his attitude was that if working conditions weren't improved he didn't give a rats ass if they fired him regardless of what they payed. Said the job was that stressful. He ended up going into the IT Field during the tech boom of the 90's.

Trust me, we all feel that's a shame. We'd like nothing better then to be able to export all our lawyers!

you guys act as if unions are saints and that if you don't support unions you're anti labor, that is pure fiction

Ahh, but that is not the claim of the article, is it? The article did not simply say Reagan was no friend to organized labor. It DID say Reagan was the ENEMY of the AMERICAN WORKER.

Bit of a difference there, Twinkey. The former is (mostly) true. The latter is a bunch of emo liberal bovine cookies.

Having witnessed, here in Montana, corrupt union activities destroy the mining operation in Berkley Pit, literally bankrupting the holding company in charge, an action which did NOT do the workers any good at all since it put them out of their jobs, I can say definitively that opposing organized labor is not, necessarily, being an enemy of the American Worker.

LOL Not unless you worked at Dayton International. I think that was a pretty common thread. There were a lot of ATC's who quit prior to the strike cause, quite simply, the job sucked due to extremely stressful working conditions. Reagan didn't get it all his own ways. Much of what the ATC's wanted before they went on strike and were fired was implemented, particularly to improve work conditions, because union or no union ATC's can shut an airport down if enough of them walk off the job.

I have not met one single ATC from that period who regretted getting fired and many of them went into IT as most were all ready trained in that area.
 
I think Reagan's cronies fed heavily at the pig troughs at the expense of racking up the deficit, but they spread the wealth around.

Reagan racked up the deficit at a time of economic growth in America, which is why many people did not notice inflation.

Had those investments been used wisely and then used to pay off the deficit, it would have fared much better for America.

Now they are racking up the deficit again, though not at a time of economic growth but decline. Which spells disaster for the American economy. They are already calling to once again lift the debt ceiling......

only worked one airport, cherry point marine air station. and yes, almost all that i worked with, marine and civilian, had an extensive knowledge of IT subjects.
