Elections officials say in the report that they’re working on fixing the issues raised in the audit. And they say clerical error is the culprit behind the voting concerns, not voter fraud.

According to the audit, election officials said that “in every instance where it appears a deceased person or incarcerated person voted and local records were available, a clerical error was established as the reason for the situation.”

Officials also told auditors that in some instances, voters submitted absentee ballots shortly before they died.

All employees in the US must fill out an I9 since 1986.

The list of documents accepted is on the final page of that link. I do see that a voter registration card is acceptable in place of a photo ID. Which leads to an interesting discussion. If no photo ID is required to register to vote, then an illegal immigrant could register to vote and then in turn use their voter registration to get a job. A bit off topic, but interesting all the same. (at least to me)

Yes, and the I9 actually provides ways that do not require a state issued ID. A school ID, voter registration card would also suffice. I was unaware of those being acceptable, so I stand corrected.

There is no way of finding out unless you require proof of who you are, where you live and your legal status......

There have been arrests and convictions for voter fraud in the past.....the fact that few are actively investigating and the various roadblocks to
stop it where is it suspected makes its impossible to find out how prevalent it is or isn't...

N.Y., City Councilman Michael LoPorto on ballot fraud charges has revealed detailed testimony about the casting and soliciting of absentee ballots. LoPorto was charged with 22 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument for his role in an alleged Democratic Party attempt to steal a city council primary victory in 2009,according to the Times Union.

four Democratic officials in Indiana were hit with felony charges related to petition fraud in the state’s 2008 primary. The prosecutions are a result of the local South Bend Tribune newspaper’s investigation last fall into “hundreds of county residents’ signatures” forged on petitions used to put Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the Democratic primary ballot. At least two whistle-blowing government officials came forward to expose the forgery racket, which court documents say was formulated by Democratic Party officials inside local party headquarters.
