Funny, most everything sold at Staples used to be sold at empty buildings on mainstreet that once held stores which employed americans and sold goods created in America by americans.
You act as if Staples is a good thing. It is not. Thousands upon thousands of americans do not thank Mitt.
1) Mitt was not born wealthy. Mitt's father became wealthy when he turned American Motors around.
2) Do link us up to the $100k welfare payment info.
"“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. My father left when I was 2.” Barack Obama, May 31, 2008, in Great Falls, Montana
Who knows. He could have been talking about Mitt then, as well.
Ummm, they aren't saying the president describes himself as BEING born with a silver spoon, but as a contrast to the circumstances in which he was born.pretty lame excuse from the WH....also i would like to see an actual quote from obama describing his background as silver spoon. i call bs.
so the WH lied then...because he didn't refer to his back ground as a silver spoon, rather, quite the opposite.
he could have been talking about mitt? good lord...![]()
In what year do you believe Mitt's father became wealthy?
Kidding on the Mitt comment. And what do you mean by the opposite? He used silver spoon the same way he did in this week's comment...
really....he said mitt wasn't born with a silver spoon?
Wpw, two posts and you still don't get it. The Whitehouse is showing that the president has used the silver spoon comment to differentiate his life. He has used it before Mitt. Perhaps Mitt is a little sensitive on the issue.so the WH lied then...because he didn't refer to his back ground as a silver spoon, rather, quite the opposite.

Because we know that the countries who out-educate us today will out-compete us tomorrow, this budget also invests in a complete and competitive education for every American -- in early childhood education programs that work; in high standards and accountability for our schools; in rewards for teachers who succeed; and an affordable college education for anyone who wants to go. That's the reason the three of us are standing here today. None of us were born with a silver spoon in our mouths -- but we got a great education. And if we combine additional resources with a commitment to reform, then I think we can deliver that for every American child.
Investing in a community college, just like investing in a new road or a new highway or broadband lines that go into rural communities, these investments are not part of some grand scheme to redistribute wealth. They’ve been made by Democrats and Republicans for generations because they benefit all of us. That's what leads to strong, durable economic growth. That's how America became an economic superpower. That's how we built the Transcontinental Railroad. That's why we’ve got the best universities and colleges in the world. That's why we have cutting-edge research that takes place here, and that then gets translated into new jobs and new businesses, because somebody did the groundwork. We created a foundation for those of us to prosper.
Somebody gave me an education. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Michelle wasn’t. But somebody gave us a chance -- just like these folks up here are looking for a chance.
When you take classes at a community college like this one and you learn the skills that you need to get a job right away, that does not just benefit you; it benefits the company that ends up hiring and profiting from your skills. It makes the entire region stronger economically. It makes this country stronger economically.

This was about three years ago talking about himself, Senator Conrad and Representative Kratt:
This was the other day:
So, yeah, he kind of does use that language when talking about his personal experience and the importance of investing in education.
You are being purposely obtuse. I read the response from the White House one time and got it. Perhaps you should brush up on your reading comprehension. It was NOT some stretch of words by the White House to explain the comment. Really takes very little imagination at all to understand that is what they meant.that is what onceler indicated....onceler he used that to describe his own background....onceler did not say contrast. since onceler failed to provide a cite all i had to go on was what onceler said. you seem to know what they said...do you have a link?

Jeez, Yurt - what the heck are you talking about? Both times, he said he himself wasn't born w/ a silver spoon.
Good golly...
The comment wasn't about Mitt.seriously?
so he is saying mitt wasn't born with a silver spoon?
