Romney Picks VP

mittens had to pick pr, the right wing was putting a lot of pressure on him to do so - the radical right was threatening to desert him

I'm sorry, I just LOL every time I hear the words "radical" and "Paul Ryan" in the same sentence.

I'm not really surprised by Mott's reactions. He's been ranting about Midwest Republicans such as Walker, Ryan, and whoever's running Ohio for some time now. Too bad about Kucinich, though...

The Compassionate Conservative???

You mean people actually watch those commercials? I view them as wasted money and believe that the income media outlets recieve for political adds should be charged a hefty windfall profit tax since their profits aren't doing much to help America.

I don't think the right actually watches the commercials. It's more like the listen to FOX.

Ryan is not a rabid rightwing nut as you would stereotype a southern conservative. His economic policies were written on Wall Street and approved by the WSJ. I'm mildly shocked by this pick. Mitts is screwed. I can't wait to see Ryan debate Bidden though if they do debate he had better hope there are filibuster rules or he'll not get a word in edge wise. I don't think Biden will have the kids gloves on with PR that he did with Palin....not that anyone really gives a rats ass what a Veep has to say. Still, could prove interesting. I would say this choice was as bad as Palin but I think Mitt's going to see a lot of second guessin on this choice and if he loses a lot of people will blame it on Ryan.

Biden, for all that's said about him, is a master politician. He will wipe the floor with Ryan during a debate.

I'm sorry, I just LOL every time I hear the words "radical" and "Paul Ryan" in the same sentence.

In the terms of today's Tea Party-infused extreme GOP, Ryan is mainstream. And that's the problem. Effectively, he's as extreme and radical as any southern anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-women, anti-progress southern Republican.

I'm patiently waiting for him to say he can see Canada from his front porch.

To the two straight Republican Senators that voted down his budget plan??????

I guess we call this the Rhymny Ticket? (You read it here first, in the event that it catches on)...

Anyway, Wisconsin is considered a crucial state, so I can see why Romney would want him on the ticket. Ryan will draw the controversy that Palin drew, but he can also hold his own in a debate with most other politicians, let alone Biden.
Ba dump dump.

ROFL at Biden winning a debate. Major Lulz!!!
I didn't say Biden would win! I said I can't wait to see them debate. I mean that it should be interesting at worst and very entertaining at best. I could care less who wins/loses a debate. I just want to see how Ryan will get Biden to shut up long enough to get a word in edge wise. Like most politicians they're both attention whores so I like the match up. :)

mittens had to pick pr, the right wing was putting a lot of pressure on him to do so - the radical right was threatening to desert him

his popularity with voters has been going down and he has to firm up his appeal to the repug base

note how mittens has changed his ads to attacking obama about things that his base cares about

also, he has to hope that the repug plan to deny registering to enough dems will tip the balance in those states so he can possibly steal the election

however, selecting pr allows the dems to tie him to pr's budget plan that seeks to kill ss and destroy medicare

mittens is between a rock and a hard place and he knows it, he will say and do anything to be elected pres and the conservative big money is behind him so far

mittens cannot spend a lot of his campaign money until he secures the nomination and obama has been making use of that fact

round two of the attack ads will start as soon as mittens gets the nomination, even though the cons super pacs have been shoveling lots of money into attack ads right now

i am recording everything that i want to watch on tv so i can skip through the political ads

the level of hate and discontent is just going to get worse so that no matter who wins there will be a lot of turmoil after the election

i just hope that we do not get another scotus 'appointed' president

oh damn

all the liberal paranoia in one post.....beautiful.....we love it when your scared....

Ryan has less experience than Obama had.

LOL

And yet you voted in Obama, who never held a real job in his life. He was serving as a first term senator for only two years before launching his campaign for president. We have an economy that is in the tank, high unemployment, so how is his two years of senate experience working out?

To the majority of Americans. On the one hand I think Paul Ryan is a good pick. He's qualified at minimum, he's young, energetic, very experienced in fiscal policy, experienced political leader in congress, can be a big help in moving legislation through the house, has good chemistry with the Candidate and appeals to traditional conservatives. His down side is that "Ryans Budget" is very unpopular WITH THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS. This ties Romney to Ryan's budget plan and Obama's campaign is going to be all over that like a fly on stink. Obama's middle class populism has been highly affective and the selection of Ryan didn't hurt there at all.

Listening to Ryan speaking...didn't know he had a lisp. When he uses a telepromptor they're gonna have to install a windshield wiper on it. If :D

Ryan's budget is not popular among the left, that is for certain, Mott. But I think you misconstrue unpopularity with the left for unpopularity in general. On the right side of the aisle, Ryan's budget was VERY popular among fiscal conservatives. Mainly because it is a plan that is workable and doable, and not some waving of the magic wand (or invisible hand, as apple calls it). Rather than sticking his head in the sand and pretending we don't really have a spending problem, Ryan actually had the balls to submit a budget proposal which made real cuts and reigned in spending. I think ANY American who is seriously concerned about our debt and deficits, was REFRESHED by the Ryan plan, or at least given some hope that maybe someone in Washington cared about the problem.

I didn't say it was popular, or not, by either the left or the right. I said it was unpopular with the majority of Americans and that includes a lot of coservatives.

I think Romney has sacrificed Florida in choosing Ryan. It seems to me it will be very difficult for Romney to get 270 without Florida, even if Ryan delivers Wisconsin.
