Romney apologizes

Wrong. I stated it was because his father worked for American Motors (which he did... he worked his way all the way up to President) and that he got teased about the Rambler. The fact that his dad was President is 100% irrelevant. He still worked there. He still got teased that it wasn't one of the Big 3. It wasn't as if the teasing was done to hammer away at him, but appears more so that it was his friends teasing him. Which is a difference to what Mitt did.

No, I did not state nor imply that he was scarred for life by it. You simply wish to create that straw man so that you may in turn knock it down.

Ok noobie... for now I will let your absurdity slide as I do like the fact that we have some new people and thus new perspective on the board. So welcome.

would mini-tantrum work better for you? should I have said 'u don a bit a foot stompin'?

Lighten up, I'm TEASING you. LOL

(thanks for the welcome. :) )

come on now... you just showed us you know how to use Wiki...

Romney started there in seventh grade. He worked as a sophomore on his fathers campaign in 1962. So, as I stated, if you are going to harp on someone for 'getting their facts straight', it is generally good policy to make sure you know what the facts actually are before making such a challenge.
Can you link me to the bullying? I can't find anything that supports that claim?

It's not retarded. If someone is running for President and they're a Governor of a state now, and in that role, support draconian drug laws that are putting youths in prison for decades for possession charges, and that person did drugs as a youth, I have a big problem with that. And I want to know about it.

That's my definition of character. Some people want to know every place you put your penis. To me that's a very distorted view of someone's character. But treating others as you were fortunate enough to be treated, or treating others as you would wish to be treated, that's character.

In fact, I believe it's the Golden Rule or some such thing?

So, if you are the President of the US currently, and when you were younger you snorked up as much Cocaine and smoked as much MJ as you possibly could in HS and College yet you currently send your Attorney General to enforce draconian drug laws in a state like CA or CO where they allow people to use MJ medicinally do you think that it is problematic at all or do you only believe that rumors of something like that are enough to be hacked off about and when the reality is happening ignore it if they wear the same political Jersey as you do?

First of all claiming that Obama snorted up as much cocaine as he possibly could is a ridiculous claim. I mean it sounds like you are confusing his youth with mine!

Yes I am very much against Obama's policy on pot. I think I have mentioned this? Like 500 times?

Here is the thing, Romney did not deny it or challange it.

He said he didn't remember it. It seems he may be right. Basically, they told a story to this White guy who wasn't there and didn't remember him and then quoted him saying that it "always bothered him"... even though he hadn't even heard about it until this year. Their correction was added in stealth mode later. They claim knowledge of the homosexuality of a dead man who, according to relatives, never said any such thing about himself. They claim the incident happened while his own sisters say it didn't...

Seriously, this is the best you can do?

Um either some breaking news I haven't seen yet is out there, or Damo has just invented a bunch of stuff.

My point was that Romney was teased based on where his father worked and the cars they drove. You then made your comment that his father was President of the company so that 'wasn't the same as working there'. His fathers position had little to do with the perception of American Motors relative to the Big 3. Your response of 'his father was President' seemed to imply that he wasn't being teased as I stated.

I then went on to point out that George Romney worked his way up to President within the company and you went off on your 'so that means Mitt wasn't privileged' rant.

Hope that clears things up for you a bit.

George Romney was president of AM since Lil Romney was a child. The mere fact that Willard attended a prep school since 7th grade, screams 'privilege'.

So your attempt to dispel my assertion, based on the fact that George Romney was the pres. of a lowly 4th string car company rings a bit hollow.

Privilege is privilege. Clearly, he needed to be sheltered from the commoners. Seems like he learned pretty well, given that by his senior year, he was attacking those who didn't fit into his clique.

Basically, Damo is giving the version of the story as distilled through the Republican machine. It's quite remarkable, really.

Yeah I just went to look around and I see that FOx news et el is working big time on this today.

It's interesting because I think they are making it a much bigger story than it needed to be. This is a misstep IMO.

I belvie that is relevant and something one should consider. But if you acknoledge you did the drungs and say that you currently belive it is wrong and should be illegal and acknoledge that you should have been punished for it, I would consider that you are not a hypocrate you have simply grown up.

His sisters did not say the incident did not happen?!?!?! There were 5 witnesses to the story, and I know that if I had done something like that... I would remember it.

If someone said I did that to a kid while I was in High School, I would call them a liar, I would not say... I dont remember that incident.
