Robert Joins the Court's Whining

The composition of the Supreme Court:

The President nominates someone for a vacancy on the Court and the Senate votes to confirm the nominee, which requires a simple majority. In this way, both the Executive and Legislative Branches of the federal government have a voice in the composition of the Supreme Court.

Per the Constitution.

Roberts is concerned with his own legacy, being Chief Justice of a Court remembered as overtly political. It is especially annoying to him cause he is not responsible for the reputation, that was Mitch when he made confirmation a majority vote, broke all precedent, and then confirmed three quickies.
Some of the blame has to go to the hubris of Hillary and Ginsburg.

Remember when the Court was liberal?

No complaints from the far left loons...Marty.

The Supreme Court by its very nature has never been liberal. I am sure desegregation seemed liberal to you... But it really was past time for it to happen.

But you are right about one thing, back when the Supreme Court was willing to vote for desegregation, its justices did not whine on and on about how those who disagreed with them needed to agree. Roberts needs to put on his big boy pants and realize people are going to disagree with him.
